The terms starts next week but for now I am an active participant with this week's Dynamic Duos beautiful pinks. I am also submitting this to the CASual Fridays Birthday Bash challenge.

CCC #42

Happy Tuesday and time for this week's CASology Cue Card!  This week the Cue for this week is:

It is okay to pop up a layer to add interest to a CAS design. For my card this week there is actually three layers--one stamped (the leaves), one die cut adhered directly to the card base (purple flower) and one popped up (aqua flower).  The is still lots of white space to allow the design to breath.

Head on over to CASology today to learn what the 'cue card' means to you, how you can play along and see the all the cards created by the Design Team to inspire you.

I am also submitting this project to the Simon Says Anything Goes challenge.
Check back in this afternoon for a bit of news.

Happy Tuesday and time for this week's colourQ challenge.
Our palette this week is made up of such calm and beautiful colours based on a gorgeous necklace Arielle found on etsy!

I had so much fun using my new Sketched Shaped stamps by Maile Belles.  The hexagon was so easy to line up and create my pattern.  Too bad this wasn't the colours for the most recent 10-minute Craft Dash because this card was done in 10 minutes.

We hope that you come a play with us this week at the colourQ and while you are there make sure to visit the blogs of the rest of the Design Team to see their fabulous creations. I am also submitting this to the CASual Fridays Birthday Bash challenge and the Simon Says Anything Goes challenge.

The 12 Kits of the Holidays - April

Welcome to this month's edition of The 12 Kits of the Holidays. We are shifting gears back to Christmas this month with our hostess Sharron Gregory from On Papillon Wings.  She  provided us with a gorgeous kit loaded to the max with fabulous papers, stamps and embellishments.
Look at all the fabulous goodies in her kit:

I created 5 cards for today's post and I have lots of goodies left over for CASEing the other girls.
I hope you enjoy the hop this month.

I used this week's RetroSketch for this card.

We hope that you take the time to go have a look at what the rest of the group has to inspire you.

Muse #14

Sharing a card for this week's Muse challenge.  When I create a project based on an inspiration photo I usually start by choosing what I am drawn to by the piece.  In the case of this week's Muse Virginia Lu I was drawn to every element and I couldn't help but want to do exactly what she did.  LOL

So I had to try again, I loved the colours and I loved the matting treatment. That was what I set out to do.  I decided that Ii didn't want to stamp an entire background just part of it, but it didn't look right matted on the white.  So now I was derailed and didn't want to start over.  I switched up the matting and was happy with the results. A little tip: If you are stamping that final image on your focal panel and it doesn't stamp well try using your Copics to touch it up. I am also submitting this to the CASual Fridays Birthday Base challenge and the Simon Says Anything Goes challenge.

Cardstock:  White, Kraft, Blueberry Sky
Stamps: Stylish Sentiments Birthday (PTI) Flower Friends (Simon Says Stamps)

Flower Show CASE Competition

\

Waltzingmouse had a Flower Show on April 19th with some distinguished guests who were asked to create a project that featured flowers. Now Waltzingmouse is holding a Flower Show CASE Competition.  Select a design from the Flower Show and CASE it.  Sadly I don't have any Waltzingmous flower stamps, YET, but found during the April Blog Waltz that the snowflake from Sewing Box Christmas can double as a flower. I decided to case this fabulous card created by Helen Berry.

and this is what I came up with.

Cardstock:  Harvest Gold, White, Simply Chartreuse (Papertrey Ink)
Stamps: Sewing Box Christmas, Woodenheart Alphabet (Waltzingmouse) Mat Stack 1 (Papertrey Ink)
Ink:  Blueberry Sky, Harvest Gold, Simply Chartreuse (PTI) Real Red (Stampin' Up)

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop - April

Time for this month's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!

This month the theme is 'tilted', create a project with something tilted.
Although it may seem a little crooked to you if it actually a lot of fun.

After what has seemed like the eternal winter I personally cannot wait to get back into my flip flops again.  So for my card what I decided to tilt were flip flops. I am also submitting this card to the Simon Says Anything Goes challenge.

Thanks for popping in and enjoy the rest of the hop!

DD #49 & RS#60

Sharing a card for this week's Dynamic Duos Challenge and this week's RetroSketch.  Perfect colours for a wedding or anniversary card and with summer coming (yes it is coming!) these are the cards you want to have on hand.

I am a huge fan of Deanna Dean of Kloset Kreations.  Her creations are the ones that I repeatedly say "Wow why didn't I think of that!".  She has such amazing talent creating CAS cards.  When I saw her card for this week's RetroSketch I had to CASE her.  I didn't switch things up too much, because hey you can't really change perfection. I used the True Black patterned papers from Papertrey Ink and, Smokey Shadow for my solid.  My ink colours are Soft Grey and Smokey Shadow. I am also submitting this to the  Simon Says Anything Goes challenge and the Passion For Papertrey Let's Celebrate Challenge.

CSC #137 & CAS-ual Fridays Birthday Bash

Sharing my card for this week's CASE Study Challenge.

The week's Muse once again is the incredibly talented JJ Bolton and an interactive card that was a winning submission for last years Paper Craft Magazine's Gallery Idol.

I was drawn to the bright colours against the white card base and the inverse die cut and use these elements on my very CAS design. I spaced out and laid out the 'hap' and 'y' leaving space for the other 'p' as I only had one.  I used some washi tape to secure the position while I ran it through the die cut machine.  Then I ran the other p through the machine.  I have enjoyed playing along with JJ's cards this month as it has pushed me to try some new techniques.  I am also submitting this to the CASual Fridays Birthday Base challenge.
