Muse #286

Happy Thanksgiving!
It's time for another new challenge at Muse!

It's is Thanksgiving Day here in Canada so things are busy busy around here. Both of my kids are home for the weekend, turkey is ready to go into the oven and there are way too many sweets in the house--cookies, loaves, pies and of course chocolate. My heart is happy. For this week's Muse it seemed only fitting to make a card for the fall. I used the new Pretty Pink Posh Autumn Wreath Stamps (EH)  and Pretty Pink Posh Autumn Wreath dies (EH). It's such a beautiful and fun wreath to colour. I stamped the wreath onto a panel and coloured it with Copic markers, I also stamped and die cut some of the extra images that come with the set and added them to the wreath either flat with tape runner or adhesive dots for dimension, even the laves that fell off the wreath to the ground!

Muse #279 with Pretty Pink Posh | Geranium

Happy Monday! Time for new challenge at Muse!

I used the Pretty Pink Posh Geraniums stamp set for this week's card. I started off by smooshing some  watercolour paper into Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide ink that had been spritzed with water. While I waited for it to dry I stamped and coloured some flowers from the set and then arranged them on the watercolour panel some with tape runner and others with foam tape. A sentiment from Pretty Pink Posh Simple Sayings: Miss You was stamped underneath.

Muse #270 and The Daily Marker 30 Day - Day 11

Happy Monday! Time for new challenge at Muse!
Doing something a little different this week. The pretty Studio Katia Lovely Blooms (SSS|SK) has been coloured with pencil crayons on toned grey cardstock. In Canada we call coloured pencils, pencil crayons--so many memories of getting a new package for back to school each year. I coloured the image with Prismacolor Premiere Colored Pencils.

Now don't let the inspiration make you nervous, remember that at Muse your card is inspired by the Muse card. So you chose how to interpret it.

The sentiment is from the Studio Katia Birthday Greetings stamp set (SSS|EH|SK).

Happy Monday! Time for new challenge at Muse!

For my card this week I created it for Lea Lawson's Layton's Legacy Challenge!
If you haven't heard about it let head over to Lea's blog and read all about this fantastic Card Drive Fundraiser.

I used Winnie & Walter Welcome to the Family and Wishing You  stamps for my card today using the mood board above and this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches! All the images were watercoloured with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers and Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours. The 'wishing you' sentiment was stamped in Delicata Golden Glitz ink.

Muse Challenge #261

Happy Monday! Time for new challenge at Muse!

As I write this post today we are having a snowstorm. Definitely not something I expected in April, but not unheard of. Just yesterday I was amazed how much of the snow had already melted and it looked like we were definitely on our way to the spring. So for now I have to experience spring in a card. I used the new Friendly Florals stamps and Happy Spring dies from Neat & Tangled.

When it comes to making dimensional flower arrangements on a card the process is really not that scary. I stamped my images with VersaFine and heat embossed with clear embossing powder on Bristol smooth cardstock. I watercoloured my images with ZIG Clean Color Real Brush Markers and a waterbrush. Once they were dry I laid everything out.

Then I placed two of the flower images on my card base because they are going to be in the back of my arrangement. I used the flower spray that I was going to put on top and moved the flowers around until I found an arrangement that I liked. Once I was sure where the bottom flowers were going to rest I adhered them to the card base.

Final step was to put some foam tape on the back of the top spray and attach it.

Muse #249

It's time for Muse Challenge #249!

This week I doubled up and created a card for my son's 23rd birthday and also for this week's inspiration at Muse! I am really having a hard time believing that my boy is a grown man, but of course he will always be my baby--lol. I had to use this fun image for my snowboarding boy. The background was created by smooshing some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink selectively on Bristol Smooth cardstock to create a windy snow hill. I adhered the snowboarding penguin with an action wobble (video clip below) so the whole scene becomes a wild ride. The panel was completed with the sentiment white embossed on a black cardstock strip and then I added white fun foam to the back of it to add even dimension.

I can't wait to see how you interpret this week's challenge.
See you over at Muse!
