RS #148, Lawnscaping and Merry Monday

IMG_7264

Happy Saturday!
It's time for a new sketch at RetroSketches.

I used some Lawn Fawn goodies to create my winter scene. After I stamped my tree line on the centre panel, I coated below it with some Claudine Hellmuth Multi-Medium and then covered with Stickles Star Dust Fine Dry Glitter. Originally I planned on covering the space with Star Dust Stickles glitter glue, but for some reason it was clogged and didn't want to come out of the bottle. I've told you before that Stickles and I don't always get along.

I am also submitting this to the Lawnscaping Challenge #97. Check out the mood board.

The tiny snowflakes allow me to submit this also the this week's Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #140.

I am going to try and get better. No offense to my male readers, but I have a total man cold, that is right out my hubby's mouth! I feel like I have been sick forever. It started on Christmas Eve and I still am struggling with it. I will also add that I don't care for winter very much, and it hasn't even started where I am. So I hope that you are well and warm and that you stay that way.

The StampNation Birthday Bash starts tomorrow, not a member yet CLICK to join!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

I have a card to share for the current Festive Friday Challenge and the current Merry Monday Challenge. I knew that I was going to use an ornament for the Merry Monday challenge and when I saw the inspiration photo at Festive Friday I immediately knew I was going to use gold.  Not sure if it was going to work at all I embossed my ornament in mat gold on cream glitter cardstock.  It actually worked and it looks gorgeous IRL. I adhered the die cut to a rustic cream card base and added a few red sequins--done. I kept the design very CAS and the whole card was done in 10 minutes.

Have a great Sunday!

Depending on the weather in the morning we may be making the trek to Sudbury to take Ben for lunch and see his completed ice fishing hut! Before Christmas the architecture students, working in small groups, had to design ice fishing huts! As soon as they got back from Christmas break they had to actually make them and then next week they will be auctioning off their huts to the local community. {insert proud mama moment here}

Happy Friday and
Happy Birthday Muse!

Jackie Rockwell (creator) is our Muse for this anniversary challenge with this gorgeous card for our inspiration. I am also submitting to this week's Merry Monday Challenge which was to use Red, Vanilla, Kraft and Chocolate with ribbon and to Festive Friday because I was inspired by the photo of the red barn and nature so pulling out Lawn Fawn's Winter Sparrows seemed fitting.

Merry Monday #66 and Festive Friday #10

It has been a while since I played along with Merry Monday and this is my first time joining Festive Friday.  I really hope to get back into making Christmas cards again. I will be so happy I did come December.  I inked up my Waltzingmouse Ornate Ornaments for the first time and was just stunned, as always, at how lovely WM stamps stamp.  I used the sketch from Merry Monday and combined it with the challenge at Festive Friday to create a project with a vintage theme. After die cutting, embossing and stamping my ornaments I used an embossing pen to emboss gold on the top of the stamped ornament.

Merry Monday #55.

Happy Monday and time for this week's Merry Monday Challenge.
This is my last week as Guest Designer for Merry Monday.  This month has gone by so quickly and I have had a great time playing with the team.  The best part is that I have quite a head start on my cards for this coming Christmas.  I am going to try to continue playing along with the challenge, I will be so happy come November.

This week's challenge is a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge.  Three in a row across, down, or diagonally.  I chose the top row this week--animal, designer paper and ribbon.

I created my scene using the reindeer image from Papertrey's Tiny Treats and Tremendous Treats.  A bit of Copic colouring and then I went over the antlers with a clear glitter gel pen.

Cardstock:  Vintage Cream , Kraft (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: Merry (My Minds Eye)

Ink:   Pinefeather (Papertrey Ink) Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Dies: Classic Circles and Scalloped Circles (Spellbinders)

Merry Monday #54 & A Blog Named Hero: Freestyle

Happy Monday, welcome for another fun week at Merry Monday.
I am having a great time playing along with the Design Team girls and my Christmas card stash for next year is loving it too.

This week's challenge is to create a Christmas card that uses a snowman.

I started with a blue card base and I stamped and embossed in white with the Tiny Flakes cling stamp from Hero Arts.  I added two snow drifts iced with Frosted Lace Stickles then stamped my older Hero Arts woodblock snowman with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and fussy cut and coloured with Copics.  The final touch was a sentiment in black, I like the way the sentiment looks like the snow in falling in front of it because the embossing resisted the stamping.  I am also entering this card into this week's A Blog Named Hero: Freestyle challenge!

I hope you come and play along with us at Merry Monday this week.  I am so happy my stash of Christmas cards is growing and I know you will be too come next December!  Please visit the rest of the team and see there amazing creations:

Cardstock:  White, Spring Rain (Papertrey Ink)
Stamps: Tiny Flakes, Snowman (Hero Arts) Think Big Favorites #8
Ink:  Fresh Snow (Papertrey Ink) Versamark, Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)

You are probably asking yourself if I have lost my mind.  Well that happened a long time ago.  So here I am sharing with you my first Christmas card for next Christmas.  Every single year I tell myself  when I am scrambling to get all my cards done that I won't let it happen again, and then July rolls around and I see Christmas in July everywhere and I tell myself that I should get started, then it is December and I still haven't started on my cards.

My friend Lesley Croghan has a weekly Christmas themed challenge called Merry Monday.  So I am getting started by participating in my first Merry Monday.  This week the challenge is based on this sketch!  I am also submitting this card for the Moxie Fab World Challenge #60: Make a Card with a Window.
