colourQ #358

IMG_0556

Happy Tuesday!

It's time for this week's new colour palette at the colourQ.

I used Sailmate from Neat & Tangled for my card this week. Playing along using the nautical theme. I created the waves with Cool Carribean, the sailboat with Poppy Parade and used the ship`s wheel as the sun in the sky and finally I embossed the sentiment with white on a piece of Night of Navy cardstock. The panel and sentiment were adhered to the card base with foam tape!

CCC #209

It's time for a new cue card at CASology!

This week`s new cue is:

Can't get enough of my ZIG's these days. I have been working with them a lot during the 30 Day Coloring Challenge trying out different techniques for using them that I am actually starting to feel comfortable with them. I love how fluid they are which makes blending easy if you use the right kind of paper. Today I used watercolour paper for my design instead of the Strathmore Bristol I have been using lately. I think it definitely blends best with the Bristol but for my card today I had originally set out to do something different and used watercolour paper but ended up changing to my ZIG's. Still worked out but I think it would have been better with the Bristol.

Happy Tuesday and time for a new Cue Card at CASology!

This week the Cue is...

Well who is just a jolly old sole?
By using a die cut word block you create a big impact but give the design lots of breathing room.

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop - September '14

IMG_6443

Sneaking in at the last minute with a card for this month's Papertery Ink Blog Hop. I haven't played in a few months and didn't want another month to pass by. Sometimes it feels good to just make a card because we feel like it, no deadline pressure just because.  As much as I am sorry to see the end of summer (we did have one right?) there is nothing like argyle to make you think of cozy sweaters. I used one of the colour palettes and one of the sketches provided for my card. I am also submitting this to this week's Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes.

Hope you enjoyed the hop!

The Card Concept #4 - Use a Floral Theme

IMG_3877

It is time for another new challenge at The Card Concept.
This week we have another beautiful inspiration for you to try.

I was inspired by the beautiful roses in the inspiration photo and by the soft peach colour.  To keep my card CAS I created a one layer card using my favourite roses from Clearly Besotted and then I added some co-ordinating sequins to give the card a finished look without bulk.  Sequins are such an easy embellishment to add interest to your CAS cards. I am submitting this to this week's Simon Says Wednesday challenge to make a card for a wedding or anniversary and the current CAS(E) this Sketch #64.

CCC #70 and Simon Says Wednesday Challenge

It's time for a new CASology Cue Card!
This week cue is:

As soon as I saw the cue word for this week I knew I had to ink up my Avery Elle Home Sweet Home stamps and I knew the teepee image what what I was going to use.   When you use a good size image on your CAS card doing some simple or outline background stamping helps to ground the image without overpowering it.

Dynamic Duos #77 & Merry Monday #82

IMG_2970

Slipping in for a last minute Dynamic Duos!
I just love these colours together for the holidays!

I used my new Wink of Stella Brush to add a bit of glitter to the bird's hat. After loading the brush I learned that when they say in the instructions to "gently squeeze" and it doesn't seem to be coming out, not to keep "gently squeezing"--ha ha.  It came out all right.  The effect is really pretty, I don't know how we have managed in the past without these brush pens.  I am also submitting this card for this week's Merry Monday Challenge #82 to use red, aqua and white on your Christmas creations and the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge to keep it Clean & Simple!

CCC #66, 'Fetti Finds, CAS-ual Fridays, Simon Says Wednesday Challenge

IMG_2787

It's time for this week's CASology Cue Card!
This week's fun October cue word is:

This week I created a window card using a frame created using Lil
' Inkers circle stitched dies. I love the look of the double stitched frame.  When you create a window on your card you ar really decorating both the outside and the inside of your card at the same time.  That combined with the frame adds interest without bulk.

Once again because I used some fun Reverse Confetti stamps for my card, I am submitting it to this week's 'Fetti Find Link List. I am also submitting this to Simon Says Wednesday Challenge use a Rubber or Clear Stamp and CAS-ual Friday's In Stitches challenge. #117.
