Time for this week's CASology Cue Card:

We have a lovely bumble bee family living in our backyard. Harmless really but darling daughter is sure they are waiting to sting her.  A little new home card and some Copic colouring for this CAS card.    Leaving some room between the cluster of images and the sentiment gives lots of breathing room and does not clutter the design!

It's time for a new CASology Cue Card!

As soon as I saw the cue word for this week I knew I had to ink up my Avery Elle Home Sweet Home stamps and I knew the teepee image what what I was going to use.   When you use a good size image on your CAS card doing some simple or outline background stamping helps to ground the image without overpowering it.

CAS(E) this Sketch #48 and MFW Metal, Wood and Cork

This week's sketch at CAS(E) this Sketch is fantastic!

I decided to use the sketch to create a card for the Moxie Fab World Homemade Cards Challenge Metal,Wood & Cork. I have had these little wooden houses for quite a while now and have never used them. Perfect for a new home card. Using a new technique from the magazine I pressed the houses into ink pads to transfer the colours.  What I learned? One of the houses had a dark line on it after I coloured it, so I flipped it over and did the other side.  After I was not able to adhere the house using scor tape like the others, it would not stick.  Maybe if I had let it dry all night, but I am not that patient!  So a little Tombow Mono Multi did the trick.

Dynamic Duos #64

It's Saturday and time for another colour duo from Dynamic Duos!

The colours are bold and sassy this week and this due is perfect for summertime.

For my card I used my new Home Sweet Home stamps and dies from Clearly Besotted. I love the fresh images and those trees have the best shape.  I used a combination of stamping, stamping on die cuts and die cutting cardstock to build a tiny scene.

CASE Study Challenge #146

A card for this week's CASE Study Challenge.

Another stunning card by this month's Muse, Lisa Spangler.

I was drawn to the colours in Lisa design and also the feeling of home.  I knew I wanted to use my new Waltzingmouse Country Labels 4.  I used a technique that Jean Martin did on one of her cards during the Waltzingmouse release last month to add multi coloured panels to the label following the directions on her blog.

colourQ challenge #142

This weeks colourQ palette was inspired by a cute geometric purse that I would love to have.  It seems that you don't ever have a "Welcome to the Neighborhood" card on hand when you need it.  I translated the colours to PTI as Summer Sunrise, Berry Sorbet, Aqua Mist and Blueberry Sky.  I added my sentiment first and then placed each of the colours behind the window panes of the die cut window.  The frame was popped up with foam dots.  I can't seem to make a card these days without dimension.

The summer issue of Scrapbook and Cards Today was released yesterday.  For those of you who are unfamiliar with SCT it is a Canadian magazine that is publish four times a year.  It is a free publication available at scrapbook stores.  You can also get a subscription to have it mailed to you or you can read in PDF here for free.  Love love love this magazine.  Great ideas and a great blog as well.
