Muse #27

Finally I can tell you my exciting news!  You can only imagine how thrilled I was when Ardyth asked me if I would like to be the Monday Muse for this week's Muse Card Club Challenge! I received my new stamps and dies from Clearly Besotted last week and knew that I needed to use them for my inspiration card.

Here is my card and I cannot wait to see how it inspires you!

With Sympathy

Sympathy cards are never easy to make especially when you need to make one. Typically sympathy cards are made more feminine than masculine. The card I made today is actually for two young men who lost their father to cancer. I chose to use a more subdued palette for this reason making the card more masculine.  I am in love with my new Hero Arts Leafy Vines cling stamp. Perfect for full card coverage.

Little Tangles #17

I created a card for the latest Little Tangles challenge Into the Woods!  I haven't played along is such a long time, but I have so many bloggy friends on the Design Team over at Neat & Tangled I just have to play this time. Little Bear is one of my favourite Neat & Tangled stamp sets and it was also one of my first.

The challenge this time is to use some kind of natural texture on your projects. I selected some October Afternoon Campfire paper I have been hoarding for a long time and cut a square of star gazing for my background. Then I pulled out some cork and inked the huge speech bubble up to stamp on it and then fussy cut. I stamped the other images and used Copic markers to colour them in before I fussy cut them. This project is a bit out of my comfort zone but we need to push ourselves sometimes to see what we can do.

CFC109 and Clearly Besotted Challenge #2 - Seeing Spots

I haven't played CAS-ual Fridays in a few weeks now and I couldn't let a polka dot challenge be left undone. I just received my new Clearly Besotted stamps the other day and since they are also having a spotted challenge it seemed like it was time to make a card. This is another card that I will slip into my hubby's suitcase next week when he gets home from Wisconsin and before he goes back.  He has always been my biggest fan and supporter and now I love the reaction when he finds a card that was made just for him and a few challenges too, but he doesn't need to know that!

Once again stitched Mats make a perfect frame for my scene.

CASE Study #150 and Moxie Fab World Birthday Challenge

Happy Thursday and time for another CASE Study Challenge.  This is my thrid week as Guest Designer at the CASE Study blog where this month's Muse is Jocelyn Olson.  Jocelyn has a fantastic digital card to share for this week's inspiration. Aren't the colours amazing?

For my CASE Study I decided on which details of Jocelyn's card that I wanted to use for my card.  The stark white background, the colours (which just pop off that background) and the circular focal point.  I used the hot air balloons and dies from Papertrey Ink's Up, Up & Away plus the Cloud dies to create my circular focal images.  Each balloon shares two colours from the inspiration which I coloured and blended with Copic markers. I used 13 markers in total. I backed the two smaller clouds and three balloons with foam tape for dimension. I am also submitting this card to the Moxie Fab World Birthday Card Challenge and Seize the Birthday Anything Goes.

Handle with Care

IMG_1811

It's my turn to share a project on the Fresh Squeezed Stamp blog today.

I created a new baby card using that adorable onesie from the String Me Along with some supporting sentiments and an image from The Envelope Please.  The happy face was stamped with a darker shade of pink on the front of the onesie.

Time for this week's CASology Cue Card

One of the things I love about CASology is that the Cue Cards leave it up to your interpretation of the word. You will see this week that the Design Team have taken different interpretations.

My card this week is inspired by a T-shirt my son has and that translates into a cool masculine birthday card! I am also submitting this to Moxie Fab World Birthday Card Challenge.

colourQ #198 and CAS(E) this Sketch #36

IMG_1806

Happy Tuesday and time for another colourQ challenge!
This week is an interesting blend of rich colours.

For my congratulations card, I used a polaroid frame die, a leaf die and a banner die to support a single stamped image.  A few matching sequins to balance it out or maybe just to make me happy. ;)  I used this week's sketch from CAS(E) this Sketch #36 for my card.

Muse #25

A card for this week's Muse challenge. I didn't want to miss this week, Therese Calvird created such an interesting card as this week's muse.

I followed her basic design and focused on the 'different bird' that stands out. I'll tell you masking that line my birds are standing on was tricky tricky, so don't look too closely.

CASE Study #149

Happy Thursday and time for another CASE Study challenge.  I am back for my second week as Guest Designer at the CASE Study blog where this month's Muse is Jocelyn Olson.  Jocelyn has another fabulous hybrid card for us this week that is tall and narrow and features a digital frame and photo.  See her inspiration card below.

I was inspired to make a tall narrow card as well but with s stamped image instead of a photo, I also followed her design having the focal image at the top and the sentiment at the bottom. I created a partial frame using one of the rod images from my stamp set. I also used pink, for me any reason to use pink is a good reason.

I would love to see how Jocelyn's card inspires you. Join us over at the CASE Study Challenge Blog and play along with us too.  Have a wonderful day!

You are my Sunshine

It's my turn to share a project on the Fresh Squeezed Stamp blog today.

I created a card that will let a friend know just how much they mean to you. I did some selective masking to get the little firefly inside the lantern. I use scotch tape to mask tiny areas of a stamp.  I chose not to colour the bulbs in the other two lanterns to make the firefly the only source of light.

Stamps: String Me Along, Weather Through (Fresh Squeezed Stamps)
Ink: Summer Sunrise (Papertrey Ink) Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
