Fusion Card Challenge #4

Happy Family Day Canada!

I hope that today you are spending time with family.

Since we are all home today we are heading out to visit my mother-in-law.

I had a chance to create a card for the current Fusion Card Challenge.  I was so inspired by the butterflies and knew exactly what set I was going to use. I stamped the butterfly on vellum with Stazon Jet Black and soloured the image from behind with Copics. I like the effect.

Dynamic Duos #59

Happy Saturday and time for a new duo from Dynamic Duos.

This week our duo is Basic Grey and your choice of any colour!

For my card this week I chose Tempting Turquoise as my colour because I loved the way the vibrant blue looked against the grey.  My design is primarily die cuts but I 'hope' that this card provides 'hope and encouragement' to someone who needs it.

Muse #20

Sharing a card for this week's Muse challenge.  Hard to believe that it is challenge #20!

This week's Muse is Laurie Willison.  Whenever I see one of Laurie's card I wish that I had created one just like it or this.

The toughest thing for me to overcome when she is the Muse is to NOT make my card exactly the way that she did.  To stop myself from downright copying her, but I could never make a bow as perfect as she does. LOL  So how did I make it my own? Well it wasn't easy.  I loved the design, the colours, the scoring and the bow.  Desperately wanting the hot weather to arrive I decided that I wanted to create my card with the same colours but more vibrant and summery.  So I created a one layer card using Hawaiian Shores for my base, I stuck to colours only, no white.  I made a trio of sunshine rather than medallions and I used grosgrain instead of saddle stitch ribbon.

Pattern Play Day #5

Final Day for Pattern Play and today we learned how to use our patterned papers to make a quilted design and to make embellishments.  For my homework I decided to make a quilted pattern using paper from my Bright Side 6 x 6 pad from Lawn Fawn.  This is probably my favourte and most hoarded paper collection, so far.  I used Kristina's excellent instructions and video to create a quilted pattern using 4 different papers.  I am also linking this card up to the Simon Says Easter/Spring challenge.

Happy Thursday!

Today is the last day of the week for my kids, we begin our March Break (Canadian Spring Break) tomorrow so I am grabbing the little free time I will have left for a week to create a card for Dynamic Duos, CAS(E) this Sketch, The Twinery and the Simon Says Stamps A Bit O'Green challenge.  So far today I have made a lasagna, done three loads of laundry, made this card and I leave in an hour for an MS treatment which should zap my energy for the rest of the day. So I am enjoying a productive morning.  Have a great day!

Sharing a card I made for this week's Little Tangles Challenge Blog.  This week's challenge was to make a card that is CAS.  My inspiration came directly from the Neat & Tangled Design Team.  Their Pinterest Board is loaded with great projects.  I used Little Bear Stamp set for my scene and my sentiment is from Sweet Home.
