CASE Study #152

I created a card for this week's CASE Study.  This month's Muse is Jennifer McGuire
Jennifer was my first stamping crush. Back before blogging and the days when I couldn't wait for the annual Hero Arts catalog to come out.  I am also submitting this card to the Moxie Fab Trendy Triangle Challenge, the Moxie Fab World Birthday Card Challenge (hope I am not double dipping Cath!) and this week's Simon Says Wednesday Triangles challenge

Here is the card that we were given for inspiration:

I knew right away that I wanted to use my sunbeam stamp from Fresh Squeezed stamps and a perfect opportunity to use my Hero Arts Shadow inks that I am just starting to get to know.

Cardstock:  White, Summer Sunrise (Papertrey Ink)
Stamps: Weather through (Fresh Squeezed Stamps) Bold Wishes (CASual Fridays)
Ink: True Black (Papertery Ink) Butterbar, Bubblgum, Tide Pool, Pale Tomato, Soft Pool, Orange Soda, Soft Cantaloupe (Hero Arts)

With Curtain Call you are in the drivers seat and you can take your inspiration however it moves you. This time I took a very literal approach to the challenge and created a card using my Papertrey Ink watermelon stamps and dies!  The literal is the watermelon, I created a banner with them inspired by the flower banner in the inspiration photo and pulled the colours from the photo as well.  he sentiment is a celebration of the bountiful fruits of summer.

CCC #60 & Simon Says Anything Goes

Time for this week's CASology Cue Card!

I always think it is so fantastic that the Canada Day holiday and Independence Day holiday are only 4 days apart.  Perfect timing for this week's Cue Card:

Although Canada Day was July 1st, I had my card ready ahead of time.
For my card I grabbed a Canadian Maple leaf shape from the Silhouette Design Store and used my Silhouette to cut it out. Using the rule of thirds I stamped three fireworks images on my card base for the leaf to sit on top of. I am also submitting this card to the Simon Says Anything Goes challenge.

Head on over to CASology today to learn what the 'cue card' means to you, how you can play along and see the all the cards created by the Design Team to inspire you.

colourQ #193 and CFC104 and Simon Says Stamps Masculine/Father's Day and Die Cut Divas

Happy Tuesday and time for this week's colourQ challenge.
I just love this week's colours inspired by a fun and funky hula shirt.

I stamped my sentiment in three parts.  I masked off the bottom portion to stamp the top in black, then I masked the top to stamp the bottom 'Hero' with Hawaiian Shores and then I stamped the mid portion on a piece of cardstock and fussy cut the banner out of it.  The whole sentiment was die cut with a sitched mat and then double matted with Island Indigo and Certainly Celery.  I was really pleased how these colours popped off the white card base.

I am also submiting this card to CAS-ual Friday's Banners & Flags, Simon Says Stamps Masculine/Father's Day and Die Cut Diva's challenges.

We hope that you come a play with us this week at the colourQ and while you are there make sure to visit the blogs of the rest of the Design Team to see their fabulous creations.

Don't you love it when your kids use your toys for school projects?
Brooklyn used PTI Stars, Just the Ticket stamps and dies, Lil' Inkers Polaroid frame, and my Silhouette to do her History ISU. This is how I justify the money I spend.  LOL
