Anniversary Wishes

Hi there, I have a card to share that I made some time ago for a good friend and her husband who were celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary!

I used the Pretty Pink Posh Happy New Year stamps and dies along with the Fireworks stencil.

I placed the stencil over a 5 1/4" x 4" ink blended panel and pressed my embossing ink all over the stencil then I embossed it with gold embossing powder. All the images were coloured with Copic Markers, then I added a vellum circle to soften the background before adding the images with a bit of foam tape. A little Wink of Stella ove the champagne to finish it off.

Thanks for popping in!

The Card Concept One Year Anniversary Challenge

IMG_7232

The Card Concept is celebrating their one year anniversary this challenge!
I am also happy to report that I am back from my leave to designing with them again.
Thank you Laurie Willison for filling in my spot as Clean & Simple designer in my absence.

We are back with a special anniversary challenge and a new design team for 2015 made up of some of the original design team and some new faces. See all the details on the Card Concept blog as well as their inspiration to get you started with the new challenge.

Check out the beautiful inspiration graphic:

Here is how I was inspired by the graphic...

I am also submitting this to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #3, believe it or not this is the first time I inked up Papertrey Ink's The Sweet Life! I have to say I was a bit intimidated by the layered stamping but it only took two tries to line them up. The first one I tried out on scratch paper was actually the best one--LOL.

I really hope to see you play over at The Card Concept.
Have a great day!

The 12 Kits of Occasions - June '14

Well here we are half way through 2014!
What a better way to celebrate than the June installment of  The 12 Kits of Occasions!

Marybeth was our hostess this month with the perfect theme for summertime, weddings and anniversaries. The kits were full of the most gorgeous shimmery papers and die cuts. I have so much left over to play with once I see what the rest of the team has done.  Absolutely perfect colours for the themes.

I have five cards to share with you today.
I am also submitting these to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes!

CCC #99 and SRM Challenge

cover

Can you believe that this is week #99 at CASology?

Here is the Cue Card for this week's challenge:

As you know summer is a big time for weddings, therefore also a big time for anniversaries!
Playing around with some SRM sticker's in my NBUS to create an anniversary card that uses embellishments--a doily, gold heart confetti and baker's twine and yet the design is still CAS.

tracey_CCC99

1.  One main image--doily
2.  Lots of open space
3.  Limited layers & embellishments--confetti, twine
4.  Quick & easy to recreate

Head on over to CASology today to learn what the 'cue card' means to you, how you can play along and see the all the cards created by the Design Team to inspire you.

I am also submitting this card to the current SRM Challenge Blog June - Summer challenge! I used both SRM Stickers and doilies. Also to Darnell's NBUS challenge.

The Card Concept #4 - Use a Floral Theme

IMG_3877

It is time for another new challenge at The Card Concept.
This week we have another beautiful inspiration for you to try.

I was inspired by the beautiful roses in the inspiration photo and by the soft peach colour.  To keep my card CAS I created a one layer card using my favourite roses from Clearly Besotted and then I added some co-ordinating sequins to give the card a finished look without bulk.  Sequins are such an easy embellishment to add interest to your CAS cards. I am submitting this to this week's Simon Says Wednesday challenge to make a card for a wedding or anniversary and the current CAS(E) this Sketch #64.

CASE Study #153

Sharing a card for this week's CASE Study Challenge.  Another beauty to inspire us from this month's Muse Jennifer McGuire.

I was inspired by the flowers and the thoughtful sentiment.  I created a circle with my flowers using die cuts from WPlus9 Fresh Florals, new to me.  Today my parent's celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary!  What an accomplishment, both still so very much in love, always holding hands and such wonderful role models to have.  This card is for them.

Stamps: Fresh Florals (WPlus9) Home Sweet Home (Lawn Fawn)

Seize the Sketch #1 and 23 years

IMG_2172

Seize the Sketch is a new challenge blog which is the offspring of Seize the Birthday!
Many of my Scrapping friends are on the DT for Seize the Sketch so I had to play along.

Exactly 23 years ago today, I married my best friend and high school sweetheart!
He made me laugh then and he makes me laugh now even though there are currently 800 miles between us as he is working in Wisconsin.  I made a card for him HERE a few weeks ago but I made another card using the sketch.  He is coming home in a couple week's to take our son to University so I have lots of time to decide which card I will give him, maybe both! When I selected this picture my daughter gave me an "Awww, you were both so young!". I had noticed that too.  LOL

Dynamic Duos #63

IMG_1923

Time for a new colour duo at Dynamic Duos!
This week's colours are:

There is nothing more calm and soothing then greens.  Do you remember last month when all my cards used stitched mats? Don't get me wrong I still love them, but this month my cards all seem to have sequins on them somewhere. I fought the sequin bandwagon, but now that I have a pretty collection of them I am in LOVE!

I am taking my colours this week in an unexpected direction. This is an anniversary card for my hubby! We celebrate 23 years on the 18th of August, I can't believe it has been that long.  Eight moves, 2 kids, a dog and a lot of good times he is still the love of my life. It is looking like this one is going back in his suitcase on Monday.

Fusion {Hypothesis #7}

Squeaking in a card for this week's Fusion Card Challenge.
I have to say that I really struggled this week with the inspiration.  Loved the photo and the sketch but the fusion and still making it my own--wasn't working for me.  I persevered and came up with a card that I will be giving to my niece who just got engaged this past weekend at the cottage!

So excited for this fabulous couple!

Here is my card:

All supplies are from Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted.

Cardstock:  Kraft, White
Patterned paper: Kraft Patterned Paper Pack
Stamps: Wonderful Words Memories, Pretty Peonies, Beautiful Butterflies
Ink:   True Black (PTI) VersaMark (Tsukineko)
Dies: Pretty Peonies, Wobnderful Words Memories
