Birthday Ensemble

As a crafter you know that there is something special about things that are handcrafted.  You also know that there is a fine line between supplies on hand and hoarding!  My daughter needed a little gift to give to her boyfriend's grandmother for her birthday.  It was a great opportunity to use (yes I said use!) some of my 6 x 6 patterned paper that I have definitely been hoarding to make a gift!

Lawn Fawn's Pink lemonade was the paper that was chosen to create a notepad and pillow box to hold a hand sanitizer.

If you recognize the card sitting on top it is from this post HERE. It was nice to finally have an opportunity to use this card. Curious, what do you do with all of the cards that you create?

ColourQ Challenge 115 & 25 Days of Christmas Tags - Day 24

I missed the deadline for ColourQ, but I am still going to play along.

When I saw the colours for this weeks ColourQ Challenge the first thing I though of was Doodlebug's Christmas patterned papers. When I dug them out I was thrilled to see that 'Peppermin Twist' was a bang on match for all of the colours this week, I combined that with 'Limeade Daisy Stripe' Petite Prints, stickers from 'Happy Holidays' and Pure Poppy PTI cardstock to make a card, a tag and a notebook.  The tag is Day 23 from my 25 Days of Chrismas Tags series that I am doing right now on my blog.  Hope you enjoy.

Cardstock: Pure Poppy, White
Patterned Paper: Peppermint Twist, Limeade Daisy Stripe (Doodlebug)
Dies: Limitless Layers, Pinking Shears, Blcok Alphabet (PTI), Holly Jolly (Lil' Inkers)

Notepads

Tutorial:  Quick and Easy Notepads

I love lists, lists make me happy and pretty little notepads make me happier.  I have a collection of notepads to share with you today and some quick and easy instructions to get you started on making your own.

Beautiful Blooms Grocery List

Kitchen Notepad

Lilac Notepad with Closure

Tutorial:

Use purchased notepads measuring 5" x 8" from an office supply store.  Have the notepads cut in half vertically to end up with two 2.5" x 8" notepads.  I purchased mine from Staples with perferated tops on the sheets so page can be ripped out easily.  Staples will cut the notepad for you, they are sold in packages of 8 or 10.

1.  Cut cardstock base for your notepad dimensions 8 1/4" x 7 1/8".

2.  8 1/4" is the height of your notepad.  Score the 8 1/4" piece vertically in the
     following order at 2 3/4", 5/16", 2 3/4" , 5/16".  Your piece will look like this...

3.  Use a corner rounder to round the tips of the 1" panel on the right side.

4.  Cut a piece of patterned paper to cover the top of the notepad and use score
tape or other adhesive to secure the notepad onto the inside right of your
     cover (third panel).

5.  Use pattern papers and other embellishments to decorate the front of your
notebook.  I used a Basic Grey magnetic closure to keep my notebook closed.
     These make great gifts.
