Fashionista - December 2017

Here we are on the last day of 2017!
It's amazing how fast this year has gone.

I have the pleasure of being the last hostess of the year for the 12 Kits of Occasions. From the moment I laid my eyes on the new Fashionista collection from Echo Park I fell in love with the papers, the colours, the whimsy and all the possibilities. I sent each of the girls on the team a kit full of patterned papers, girlie stamped images and die cuts. Included in the line up are images and die cuts from Hero Arts, Ellen Hutson and My Favorite Things. A full list of the supplies found in the kits can be found on the 12 Kits of Occasions blog. Supplies I added today that are not on the supplies list--MFT Stamps Blueprints #27, Essentials by Ellen Mirror, Mirror die

This Tuesday will be 11 weeks since I broke my collarbone. Everyday I am getting stronger and stronger but when I use my arm too much it definitely lets me know. The bone is pretty much healed but the soft tissue damage may take up to 3 - 4 months to repair, so I am continuing with my physio and hope that 2018 is a good year for healing.  So no on to what you are here for today. I made six cards this month and it felt so good to finally be able to get back to crafting again.

For my first card I used Freshly Made Sketches Sketch #318 for my design.

My next card uses CAS(e) the Sketch #252, very literally.

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge

The Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge is raising it's final curtain today.
I was on the inaugural team from it's start July 2013 until November 2015.
The alumni members were invited to join in this final challenge that has been a fan favourite for 4 1/2 years now.

Of course I was inspired by the pine needles and pine cones and of course it's proximity to Christmas. I pulled out an old Papertrey Ink favourite, Peaceful Pinecones, and created a one layer card by masking part of the stamp so that I could create the bough in two colours. The sentiment was embossed in gold, then I added a thin strip of gold sparkle paper to the bottom of the card front and finally added a few gold filled Stickle sequins.

Hope you get a chance to play along for the final curtain call!

Muse Challenge #246

IMG_3611

It's Monday and time for another new challenge at Muse!

Can you believe today is December 11th?

We are on the heals of Christmas and we probably still have a few Christmas cards to make. It is always good to have a quick and easy design up  your sleeve so you can make a few more cards in a pinch or mass produce in a pinch--lol!

I used one of my favourite holly stamp sets from Uniko Studio and a sentiment from Right a Home for this simple design.

Looking forward to seeing how you are inspired this week!

Birch Press Poinsettia

How are your Christmas cards coming along?

I still have a few more to make but I am moving slow and December is already moving fast.
Most recent trip to the doctor has me back to limited movement, apparently I have been using my right arm too much so if I want to heal properly and faster I need to go back to doing things with my left arm again. That is not something you like to hear on December 5th--lol!

I fell back into a design I created last year with these beautiful poinsettia stamps and dies from Birch Press.

Inlaid Holiday Cards

I am up on the Birch Press Design blog today with a tutorial for creating these two cards by inlaying the inverse pieces from the opposite colour. I would love it if you headed over to have a look.

Don't forget to add your tags from the 25 Days of ChristmasTags to the Flickr group!

Bloom Fill-In

I have a card to share that I made back in October when I was in Kansas for Stamping Away.
This Concord & 9th Blooms Fill-In stamp set is absolutely brilliant. Making your own patterned paper with it in any colours you want and filling in all or none of the flowers in just genius in my opinion. Now it was very late at night when I played with this set and may have made quite a few mistakes but in the morning when I woke and it was sitting at my station I was actually quite pleased with it. Stamped and coloured with Papertrey Ink and Lawn Fawn inks and the sentiment was heat clear embossed with VersaFine Onyx Black.

Christmas '17

Ho ho ho, can you believe it is the last day of November?
Well that means is it time for another chapter of the 12 Kits of Occasions!

This month I am posting a few cards using the magical Christmas themed kit sent to us from sweet Jessica Davis! She sent us beautiful plaid papers, lots of sweet Christmas images , die cuts and of course embellishments. I just love every bit that she sent to us.

The fun part of the 12 Kits of Occasions is seeing what everyone does with all the same ingredients. When you get your kit there is something for everyone and the kit can be whatever you choose it to be. They are always self assembling meaning that all the papers, stamps and embellishments co-ordinate so they can almost put themselves together. Or if you are feeling creative you can dig in and mix and match and do some really creative cards. This month I am taking the self-assembling route being back in my craft room after not crafting for 6 weeks with my collarbone break. I know you are thinking what about all the tags from the 25 Days of Christmas Tags? Well fortunately I had most of my tags done pre-injury!

Moving on to what you are here for, I made four cards with this month's kit and as usual I have lots left over to make more.

All of them together...

Another Christmas card today and using Carol Singers from Simon Says Stamp's Stamptember Release!  These cute images are so cute to colour and I love the scripty sentiment!

I am also submitting this to AAA Cards CAS Challenge #104: Christmas.

Inspired By All the Little Things #74

We have a new challenge over at Inspired By All the Little Things this week!

This will be my last time posting as part of the Inspiration Team.
I love this challenge and have been honoured to be a part of it since it's beginning.

I am slowing things down a little bit more so that I have more time to focus on my family and myself. The last 6 weeks have been incredibly difficult recovering from my clavicle bone break. Never have I experienced anything quite like this. I have been unable to craft, unable to do pretty much anything and trying to run the 25 Days of Christmas Tags as it was set up to run has been very challenging. With the help of my design team, the amazing designers that created tags for the event and my good friend Ardyth who helped me set up the framework for my posts in the beginning when I just wasn't able to the event was a success!
  • 26 Days of amazing Christmas tag inspiration
  • So far 577 participants have created tags and added then to the linkup--you still have until December 1st 12:00 am EST to link up a tag
So here is my final card based on the inspiration photo...

Hope that you will play along with me for my final challenge!
