Freshly Made Sketches #334 Guest Design

tracey_FMS#334cover

I am back again for my final guest design post as the April Guest Designer Freshly Made Sketches

Today we are introducing sketch #334 designed by Amy O'Neill.

It was just the right sketch to use the new to me wish die-namics from MFT Stamps! A simple card to pull off with the help of an old school ruler! To comfortably fit the die on my full width white top panel I need to make the height of it 2". To centre the die I found the centre point and then the centre point of the die, I matched those two points. Once again I doubled checked that there was the same distance on both the left and right, secured it with a piece of post it tape, then cut. The rainbow back panel was cut 2.5" x4.5", get out the ruler again and found my centre point for the width. The rainbow panel was adhered directly to the card base. The top wish panel was adhered with foam tape and done!

I would like to thank the awesome designers on the team for making me feel so welome this month.

Freshly Made Sketches #333 Guest Design

tracey_FMS#333cover

I am back again for another guest design post for Sketch #333 at Freshly Made Sketches!

I am using the newly released Stitching Garden from Papertrey Ink for my card this week. This set was gifted to me by my friend Joyce when she came to stay with me last week all the way from California. I stamped the beautiful blooms and leaves using Altenew inks. I was so happy with the way the layers lined up so easily when I was stamping.

Hope to see you play along with us this week!

It's time for Sketch #332 at Freshly Made Sketches!

I just can't seem to get enough of these adorable puppies from the MFT Stamps Furever Friends stamps and dies. I combined them this week with a white embossed sentiment from All Smiles and paws from the Paw Prints background stamp.

tracey_FMS#331-cover

I'm excited to share with you today that I am this month's Guest Designer at Freshly Made Sketches!

I used a stencil a sponged my two vertical lines with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. Then I sponged two panels of Distress Oxide inks. The first in Twisted Citron and Peeled Paint then the second one with Worn Lipstick. Both panels were spritzed with clean water and absorbed with a paper towel. I die cut the Rose in Bloom from the two panels and paper pieced it together on my card front. Finally I stamped the sentiment in black.

The challenge is open until 3.00 pm EST on Monday April, 9th.
Hope to see you come and play with us there.

Freshly Made Sketches #226 and Time Out Challenges #51

IMG_9887

Down to the wire for Freshly Made Sketches #226. After a busy weekend of organizing my studio I needed some down time so I made this ombre watercolour panel for the challenge.  Then I didn't want to cover it up--lol! So the chevron ribbon is the strip across the card and the bow is my element, I added a few clear sequins just because and a simple sentiment.

This is also for Time Out Challenges #51 where the the theme is Easter or Spring. These colours are definitely both but I put an Easter sentiment inside.

I am also submitting this to this week's Simon Say Stamp Wednesday challenge Touchy Feely. The watercolour paper and ribbon add texture!

Spent a lot of the weekend organizing my studio. Gathering up items that I don't use as often as I once did and now they are ready to go to a new loving home. I have updated my For Sale page if you are interested, more coming this week.

Another Christmas card for 2015!

The theme at Merry Monday this week is to create a card with houses on it. The perfect excuse to pull out my Simon Says Stamps Village dies. I have been on a bit of a white or white kick lately, I love the fresh clean feel. I used the newest sketch from Freshley Made Sketches loosely for my design. I added snow using the Simon Says snowflake stencil and embossing paste after I had the snowbanks in place. I would not recommend doing it that way, a bit tricky. The trees were coloured with Copics.

I am also submitting this to the Simon Says Stamps Flickr Group Challenge Spots n Dots.

The moment I first visited Darnell's blog I noticed that she would welcome her new followers! I always thought it was such a nice gesture and I have found many new blogs through Darnell. Lately I have been getting some new followers and I wonder if I should be doing the same. It is always a rush to see that someone is interested enough in what you are creating to join you so they can see more.  Usually I go and visit the blogs of my new followers and often end up following them back. What do you do when you get a new follower?

Although I don't think I could ever be as thorough as Darnell in greeting guests, she is amazing! I do think I can start welcoming  my new followers, especially when I see how far some of them have traveled.

This week welcome...

Happy Friday!

I have a card to share today for this week's Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge using the current Freshly Made Sketches sketch.  The challenge this week is to make the sentiment the star of the card. Easy to do with the new Tis The Season stamps from Waltzingmouse! The most gorgeous font for Christmas Sentiments. The patterned paper is Merry & Bright from Carta Bella.

I am off to the University Fair in downtown Toronto this morning with Brooklyn. This kicks off what is going to be a flurry of activity over the next couple of months getting her applications in.  She has narrowed it down to five schools--LOL! Hopefully today will help her zone in to her top three. After that I am heading up north for a girls weekend with some friends. What are your plans for the weekend?

Merry Monday #96 and Freshly Made Sketches #124

IMG_3911

A card for Merry Monday #96 and Freshly Made Sketches #124. I started by stamping the holly leaf first and then the sentiment. I die cut a red stitched square to frame the holly panel. Then I cut the panel into three, somewhat, equal pieces and arranged then onto to the frame. I tied the twine and added some dimension to the back of the frame before adhering it to the card base. The card base is grey which might not seem very Christmas-y, but it made the panel pop so much more than white.

What do you think?
