CH #117 Orange & Green

 Hi there crafty friends!

Today we start a new color challenge at the Color Hues Color Challenge Blog! The new colours are brought to you by my very teammate Karen Walker! She has chosen Orange and Green and Wht a perfect combination for September.

My mind went straight to Halloween! I pulled out some Tim Holtz because as we all know he does Halloween well! More on that as we go.

I started off with a piece of light grey cardstock and used Distress Oxide Ink in Hickory Smoke and Black Soot to create my background panel and fun clouds from Tim Holtz Edison die set. I attached the clouds to the panel using Scrapbook Adhesives 3D Thin Foam Squares.

Next I created the star of the show the Tim Holtz Edison Pumpkin!

The pumpkin has three die for the body and two dies for the stem. I cut the bottom layer of the pumpkin with green cardstock, the middle layer with a medium orange cardstock and the top layer with a darker orange cardstock. I ink blended some Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide ink on to the edge of the top layer for some more depth.

The layers of he pumpkin were glued together with liquid adhesive and the pumpkin was added to the card front with regular foam tape! This makes the pumpkin just a bit proud of the clouds.

Two googley eyes were added to the jack-o-lantern just for fun!

The pumpkin stem was cut from light green and dark green cardstock and then added to the top of the pumpkin.

I die cut 'boo' from the Tim Holtz Vault Release Gothic Portraits three times with black cardstock and glued them together with liquid adhesive to create a dimensional word. That was glued with liquid adhesive to the bottom of the pumpkin.

Here is a close up of the pumpkin, of course the layers show up much more in real life. This is my first Halloween card for this year.

If you haven't already visited the Color Hues Color Challenge Blog I hope you stop by and see what my teammates have done for this challenge.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
I can't wait to see what you do with the challenge colours!!
