Color Hues #131

Today we start a new colour duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge. The new colors chosen by teammate Sheri Gilson are Coral and Green! A fresh Color palette for spring!

I used the Spellbinders Where Love Lives December 2025 Stencil of the Month for my card. I used Catherine Pooler inks in three shades of coral and three different shades of green.

There was lots of masking done on this card. There are 5 stencils and all my masking was done with the 5th stencil. With masking you can make each object a different colour if you like, the options are endless.

The sentiment is from an old My Favorite Things Stamps stamp set called Handwritten Happiness. It was stamped with VersaFine Onyx black ink. So crisp!

I matted the card base with a piece of coral cardstock that matches the corals of the stencilled design. The main panel was cut with the largest die from the Lawn Fawn Postage Rectangle Stackables die set. It was attached to the card base with foam tape for dimension.

Color Hues #130

Today we start a new colour duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge. Our lovely and talented leader Nancy Leppek chose the new duo at Fuchsia & Navy for this challenge. My teammates over on the Color Hues blog have once again created a wonderful inspiration gallery for you.

I used the new to me Lawn Fawn I Like Big Butterflies stamps and dies for my card this week, but let me tell you about my background first. I use the Pretty Pink Posh Leaves and Flowers Stencils for my background, I stencilled the leafy layer only with Catherine Pooler Dress Blues ink. I cut my panel out using the largest die in the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangles Stackables. Next I splattered some white acrylic paint onto the panel and set it aside to dry.

I matted my 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" with navy cardstock. Then I attached my leafy stencilled layer using foam tape. It leaves just a thin navy line around the stencilled panel.

Next I white heat embossed a few butterflies from the stamp set on Fuchsia cardstock and cut them out with the coordinating dies. I added a few white gel pen dots on the cheeks of the butterflies. That is a cute detailing tip from cardmaker Jen Shrkus, the queen of cute! I also added some Prisma glitter aound the wings of the pink butterflies. My quickie glue pen is starting to dry out a bit causing a bit of trouble getting the Prisma glitter to stick where I wanted it too. They were added to the card front with foam dots for some extra dimension.

The sentiment from the same stamp set was also white heat embossed on another piece of fuchsia cardstock and cut with a sentiment strip die. I added two rows of foam strips behind the sentiment to add more dimension.

I hope you head over to visit the Color Hues blog to see what my teammates have done! I hope to see you play along with us!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Color Hues #129 - Purple and Marigold

Today we start a new colour duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge. My fabulously talented teammate Marcia has chosen the bold duo of Purple & Marigold for this challenge. The team over at Color Hues have knocked it out of the park again along with our guest designer Chris.

My reflex was to go to a floral with these colours but I have the Spellbinders Made With Love craft dies on my desk begging to be used.

For my colourful apron I chose to work with hues of marigold the palest was embossed with the Spellbinders Confection 3D Embossing folder. I used a medium and darker hue of marigold for the apron oven mitts. I used neutrals of kraft and brown for my chocolate chip cookies.

Die cuts were added to the card with a combination of thin and ultra thin foam squares. I love that you can use them independently or layer them up gives you the ability to elevate your dimension game!

The Made With Love sentiment is also from the same die set. One die cut the shadow, which I cut with white cardstock. Each of the words is an individual die that I cut using black cardstock. They were so easy to line up within the shadow.

Honestly this is such a fun collection to use so it might stay out for a while!

Color Hues #128 - Green and Gold

Today we start a new colour duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge. Teammate Karen is our host for this challenge and she chose the colours great March colours of Green and Gold

This time of the year I can't resist making fun cards for St. Patrick's Day!

I stamped and die cut a bunch of four leaf clovers using all Catherine Pooler products. They were stamped in Lime Rickey and Green Grass inks. The stamp set is called Clovers & Blooms.

I arranged the four leaf clovers and a bit of greenery on the card base moving from upper left down to lower right. These were glued in place with liquid adhesive.

I die cut the 'Lucky' word die with three layers of gold mirror cardstock! The first time I did it I made two layers from white cardstock but that didn't work, you could see the white. I'm not great at lining up the die cuts perfectly! It was adhered to the card front using liquid adhesive!

Of course as with any shiny object or paper you put on to a card front are not the easiest to photograph. I was lucky *pun intended, that this very grey February offered me a sunny day to take my photos!

I am a,so submitting this to the current Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge!

I hope this fun color palette has inspired you to play along!

If you haven't visited the Color Hues blog yet, you really should. My teammates have done an amazing job with these colours and you won't be disappointed!

Color Hues #126 - Red & Pink

Well there is certainly no shortage of snow here again this year! After Christmas my husband and I were talking abouot how the snow so far wasn't bad. No sooner were these words spoken and a three day snow event has left us with our fill--lol! It's still so much less than last year but enough.

Today we start a new colour duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge. Teammate Julie Beech is our host for this challenge and she chose the colours Red & Pink! Perfect for a Valentines card which is the first thing that came to my mind!

Last year I purchase a few Valentine items from Pretty Pink Posh. For my card I used the Double Heart Shaker dies. I started off by cutting my heart pieces, the main double heart and the two heart pieces all cut from white cardstock.

The two separate hearts were ink blended using Distress Oxides ink in Spun Sugar, Kitsch Flamingo, Festive Berries and a touch of Candy Apple.

I made my card base and then matted it with a piece of pink cardstock. I cut it to 5 1/4" x 4" and glued it to the card base with liquid adhesive. the large white double heart was adhered to the card base and then the ink blended hearts were added with liquid glue!

The sentiments are also from Pretty Pink Posh! It's from the Valentine Greetings stamp set! It was stamped in black and die with the co-ordinating dies. I cut two more layers from the sentiment die and glued the three pieces together with liquid adhesive before adding it to the ink blended hearts!

Such a fun colour palette challenge, perfect for Valentines but really for any occasion!

If you haven't already been over to the Color Hues blog you really should. My teammates have, as usual, created some fantastic designs that are sure to inspire you to play along!

Color Hues #125 Blue and White

Today we start a new colour duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge. Teammate Carol is our host for this challenge and she chose the colours Blue & White! While thinking about what to use for my card this challenge I decided that I wanted to use the new to me Lawn Fawn Postage Rectangle Stackables from their Valentines release. That's when I decided to make a large stamp for the front of my card.

I cut the second largest postage stamp with some blue cardstock from my stash. I think it might have been from MFT Stamps. It was a lone wolf in my scrap bin. My white dove was cut from a very old die I have from Serendipity Stamps.

I white embossed the postage amount from the Waffle Flower Postal Collage stamp set and the 'BELIVE" is from Simon Says Stamp Tabbed Sentiments Holiday stamp set.

I hope this fun color palette has inspired you to play along!

I am also submitting this to the Inkspirational Challenge Shades of Blue!

Thank you so much for stopping in today!
Happy Weekend!

Color Hues #124 - Gray & Red

Today we start a new colour duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge. Teammate Bonnie is our host for this challenge and she chose the colours  Gray & Red! Perfect for a winter card and in my case a New Years card!

I used the new to me Poppystamps Nordic Bunny Bundle for my card.

I made a sweet gray bunny with a red sweater from patterned paper and cardstock! The background was embossed with the Spellbinders Diamond Plaid embossing folder! Then I cut one of the Spellbinders Essential Arches in white for some contrast between shades!

The foiled sentiment is once again from Spellbinders. It's the Misletoe Greetings Betterpress Die Set foiled in gold on red cardstock!

A closer look at the details of the bunny. It's so cute!

Thank you so much for stopping in today!
Wishing you all the bet for 2026!

I hope this fun color palette has inspired you to play along!

Color Hues #123 - Pink and Green

Today we start a new colour duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge. I am the host this month and feeling very festive I chose chose the colours Pink & Green!

I was so excited when Concord & 9th released the Yuletide Lane stamps and dies! I instantly fell in love with it! It was a bit challenging to work with only two colours but I hope that you enjoy seeing my Pink & Green creations. I made a four panel card and then I made a tag with my leftovers.

I started by cutting each of the bases for my four houses. I spent far too much time deciding of the order of my colours but in the end I like what I chose.

The Yuletide Lane die set has 36 dies! Lots of adornments to put on to the houses and some of they coordinate with the stamp set. My friend friend Carissa Wiley's did an amazing introduction video for the Yuletide Lane stamps and dies. I used that video for my inspiration.

After I die cut my four houses I stamped details on them using the Yuletide Lane stamp set. Those small stamped accents add just a bit of authenticity to these fairy like colours.

I started by die cutting lots of the adornments in each of my four colours. Then it was just a case of mixing and matching and decorating each of the houses. I tried to keep the order of the colours consistent!

I used Lawn Fawn Pixie Dust sparkle cardstock for all the snow pieces. the sparkle is so magical!

The houses die cut with a tab that you use to connect them together. On the last house you just need to trim that piece off.

This could even be craft room holiday decor!

I had lots of leftovers, including extra houses in the other colours so I went ahead and decided to make a large gift tag. I'm so pleased with it I'm planning on using up the rest of my leftovers and make a few more tags.

Sentiment from Lawn Fawn Tiny Tag Sayings.

Thanks so much for stopping in today, I hope my bright colour palette has inspired you!

I'm excited to see what you do with the colors for this challenge!

Color Hues #122 - Teal and Silver

Today we start a new colour duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge. Our fearless Leader Nancy chose the fun color duo of Teal & Silver.  Teal is defined by a darker shade of blue-green but I think we all have an idea of what teal looks like so I hope you show us what that is for you in our gallery. Please also welcome Loll and Joanne as our guests this challenge!

I started off by embossing a piece of grey/silver cardstock with the Concord & 9th Berries & Boughs embossing folder. It was trimmed down to 5 1/4" x 4" to allow a small white border. It was attached to the card base with foam tape.

I chose Concord & 9th's Oceanside cardstock for my teal and die cut my poinsettia from it. It's a Poppystamps die called Delicate Poinsettia, I just love the stitched details! There are three dies in the set and after they were cut they were glued together.

I die cut some berries from mirror cardstock for the centre of my poinsettia. I used the berry die from Concord & 9th's Boughs & Holly die set. The berries were glued into place. I also cut some branches from the same set with matt silver cardstock, I set those side while sprayed Shimmer spray on to the poinsettia and then I spray in with white acrylic paint spray. I hadn't used the white acrylic spray in a while and although I did a test spray when I aimed for the flower I got a big splotch but I was actually happy with the way it looks. The poinsettia leaves were curled up a bit for dimension and it was added to the card front with a foam dot. The extra branches were tucked in around the poinsettia.

The Merry sentiment is from Concord & 9th & Kristina Werner's Merry Greetings Builder stamps and coordinating dies. I die cut one layer from mirror silver cardstock and then cut two more layers from matt silver. They were glued together with liquid adhesive to make a dimensional sentiment.

To finish odd the card I added a few small silver foil pearls around the poinsettia just to give it a little more sparkle!

I'm excited to see what you do with the colors for this challenge!
