Hi there crafty friends!
Today we start a new color challenge at the Color Hues Color Challenge Blog! The new colours are brought to you by my fabulous teammate Julie Beech! She has chosen Blue and Red and wow did our designers ever bring a wonderful collection of cards, so many different approaches!
I pulled out an older Waffle Flower die that I have not used in a long time and made it into a birthday card!
The card came together really easily and based on how fast this summer is going I needed something quick and easy and most of all fun! I started by choosing two colours of cardstock both from Concord & 9th--Oceanside and Poppy!
I used liquid glue to attach a 5 1.2" X 4 1/2' piece of Poppy cardstock to the front of my card base. Then I cut the Oceanside panel with the Waffle Flower die. Once the panel was cut I white heat embossed the sentiment on it.
It was also attached it with liquid glue because I wanted a snug fit for my popped up layer in the next step. I made sure I glued around each opening for a snug fit.
I had a bunch of blue Oceanside dots left over from when I die cut the top panel, so I added a few to the card with pop dots to guide the eye from the top of the card down to the bottom.
If you haven't already visited the Color Hues Color Challenge Blog I hope you stop by and see what my teammates have done for this challenge.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!

great use of the dots die. Fun.
Fabulous simplicity in this design and I love it a lot! This is the time of year for it, that's for certain. What a great die, and I love your shades of blue and red. I'm happy to be guesting with Color Hues for this challenge!
You had me with the polka dots, Tracey! This is a fun card!
Your dot trail led my eyes past the Hbday greeting and back out again for the total effect! Bravo!
I agree that the summer is flying by, Tracey. I love how you've added some of the dots back in and in such a pleasing arrangement! A perfect birthday card for and age or gender!
What a bright and happy birthday card! Love the way you added the popped up circles to give a sense of direction to the card.
What a cool die you used Tracey, and I love how you raised up some of the extra dots to create such a fun dimensional look! AWESOME card my friend!! Hugs. :0)
This is so fun, Tracey! The color and placing the disks that way to move the eye reminds me of playing Connect 4 with Dan a million years ago! Great memories! Hope you are doing well! Hugs, Darnell
A fun graphic take on the colours Tracey. I agree the year is just whizzing by, the summer holidays are almost over for us. :)
