Happy Tuesday and yes it's time for this week's new Cue Card at CASology!

This week's cue word is near and dear to my heart:

Pulled out an older PTI set Foodie Fun and I clear heat embossed the chocolate bar then popped both the bar at the sentiment up with foam tape on a Vintage Cream card base.

The 12 Kit of Occasions - Sept '14

The 12 Kits of Occasions Rewind!

We have a special treat for you this month at The 12 Kit of Occasions!

We don't have a new kit to share but we are doing a rewind this month and going back and using up some of our leftovers--and we have a lot!!  What is really fun is that we can mix and match kits and with a license to CASE each other!

I had such great intentions of making 12 cards this month, one for each kit. So it didn't quite work out as I hoped but I know I will pick up more inspiration as I go through the other girl's posts! It always happens, they are so talented!

Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

Happy National Coffee Lover's Day!

If you can't start your day without some java you already knew what today is all about. Chaitali Narla of Cuts, Crops and Creativity is hosting the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! Organizing has been going on since the summer and this is going to be big!

Here is my card for the hop. I CASED myself from this card HERE using Reverse Confetti's Be a Barista and Go Together and one again using my favourite patterned paper for coffee cards Basic Grey Persimmon!

My favourite fall treat from Starbucks is a Salted Caramel Mocha, half sweet.

Coffee Lover's Blog Hop Q & A (as suggested by Virginia Lu)...

1. When did you start drinking coffee?

I remember sitting with friends one weekend after I was married and discussing how could anyone drink coffee--yuck! Well throw in two years of teaching and I became a coffee addict just in time to have to stop drinking for a while it because I became pregnant with my first!

2. What is favorite brand? 

I love Starbucks Guatemala, Tim Hortons (because I am a real Canadian) and Green Mountain Coffee Nantucket Blend K-Cups.

3. What is the most amazing coffee that you had?

Most amazing was at Soporafino's in Oshawa before we even lived here with my husband. Amazing food too. We went there every year for Valentines Day. Sadly they closed a few years ago.

4. If I don't drink my needed coffee, I will...

...be a zombie until I have my cuppa to get going.

TYIC #7

Happy Friday! Looking forward to the weekend with a weather forecast full of warmth and sunshine. While driving around yesterday I noticed that many of the Maple trees around here have already turned. That seems a bit unusual, I expected the colour I saw last weekend up at the cottage but usually the city hold off a bit longer.

Today is the kick off to Challenge #7 at Tag You're It. Our inspiration this challenge is from a gorgeous tag by our own Gayatri Murali.

Since October 13th is the Canadian Thanksgiving I created a Thanksgiving tag to inspire you using some Lawn Fawn papers and stamps.




I am also submitting this to this week's Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes.

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop - September '14

Sneaking in at the last minute with a card for this month's Papertery Ink Blog Hop. I haven't played in a few months and didn't want another month to pass by. Sometimes it feels good to just make a card because we feel like it, no deadline pressure just because.  As much as I am sorry to see the end of summer (we did have one right?) there is nothing like argyle to make you think of cozy sweaters. I used one of the colour palettes and one of the sketches provided for my card. I am also submitting this to this week's Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes.

Top Dog Dies: Signature Emerson Die

Time for another project for Top Dog Dies! There is a new release this week featuring 5 new Signature dies. Today I used the new Signature Emerson Die along with the previously released Halloween Trio dies to create a fun Halloween card. I used the sketch from retrosketches and modified the die cut slightly to work with the design.  I took about 1/4" inch on the top of the die cut and then the one of the ribs our of the die cut to form the space. That is the creative part of using a shape die, you can modify the shape to suit your needs after you have made your cut. The scary cat was die cut using some black glitter paper and once again I added green Stickles to the eyes.

The Top Dog Dies Design Team is going to be sharing cards with the three new dies for the next several weeks...here's a peek of the five new dies available exclusively at Top Dog Dies  on Sept. 26th!

Festive Friday #40

A card for Festive Friday!

It feels so good to get back into making Christmas cards again. That is where it all started for me about 28 years ago when I bought my first Hero Arts rubber stamps.  Looking back at it now my stamping was very amateur but it is a big part of my history. The beginning of doing something I really love. 

I used the inspiration photo as a springboard and cracked open my new Simon Says Ornaments stamps and dies to create a sparkly and shimmery card using the colours from it. I popped two of the ornaments up with foam tape and added the elusive Wink of Stella to them (honest), the smallest ornament was die cut from white glitter paper and the ornament tops were die cut from silver glitter paper. Then I stepped completely out of my comfort zone and added not my usual three sequins but FIVE!

CCC #114

Last weekend I was at my girlfriends cottage with 5 others for a girls weekend!
Such a great time with friends, food, laughter, so much RAIN, naps, games and constant talking. Love these ladies so much, they are my neighbours at home but getting away with them is too much fun! I slept until lunch time on Monday and I'm still tired from the late nights and because I guess we are not 20 anymore!  LOL

Now it's time for a new Cue Card at CASology!

This week's cue word is:

I decided to go literal this week and make a butterfly my focal image. Fall is here and the Monarch are well along their migration path to Mexico for this year.  To create my Monarch I stamped my butterfly image using Memento Tuxedo Black and shaded the spots blending together two yellow Copic markers--Y35 and Y38. I detailed the butterfly with clear Wink of Stella. After adding my sentiment I stamped the last word on yellow cardstock and popped it up.

Welcome Autumn

Happy Autumn!  Although I am not quite ready to say goodbye to summer, I am always happy to welcome to welcome autumn. The beautiful changes in the colours of the leaves on the trees before they fall.  On the weekend I went with some good friends for a girls`weekend at one of the girl`s cottages. The trees have already started to change and after what was in my opinion a poor summer for gardens the trees are more vibrant than they have been in a few years--reds, oranges and yellows.

A card using some new Winnie & Walter stamps to welcome the arrival of fall!
