Color Hues Challenge 112

Today is the start of a brand new colour duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge!

Teammate Stephanie has chosen Peach and Cobalt as the colors for challenge #112! I wasn't sure which direction I was going to go, but I recently got the Lawn Fawn Backyard Birdfeeder stamp set and the Build-a-Birdfeeder dies in my possession and thought what a great time to use them!

I started by cutting all the pieces from the build-a-birdfeeder dies. The actually bird feeder was stamped, cut and coloured with Copic markers. Then there were 5 white birdfeeders cut and glued together to make the well to hold the seed. The two birds were cut from dark blue cardstock and shaded with Copic markers.

The frame is an old MFT Stamps die that I cut with the peach gold flecked Lawn Fawn Spiffier Speckles 6 x 6 paper pad!

Next the sentiment from the Lawn Fawn Backyard Birdfeeder stamp set, stamped with Catherine Pooler Dress Blues ink. Then I attached the base of the birdfeeder inside the frame. Next the well was loaded up with some sunflower seeds from the Build-a-Birdfeeder dies and Studio Katia Gold Dust Seed Beeds.

The top of the birdfeeder had a clear acetate piece adhered behind it and it was placed on the top of the feeder and its contents.

The two blue birds were attached using a combination of liquid adhesive and small foam dots!

Lunar New Year Challenge - June card

Hi there crafty friends, it's Tracey here with you today sharing my June card for the Lunar New Year Challenge. Check out this months sponsors below we have Lawn Fawn, Altenew, Sunbird Spark and Whimsy Stamps joining us as sponsors this month.

For my card I used stamps and dies from Lawn Fawn on my card this month including their new Pull 'n Slide interactive dies.

Slide open...

The first step was to die cut all of the pieces from the Pull 'n Slide interactive dies. I used kraft cardstock for the outside panel and cream cardstock for the inside. The base layer is Papertrey Ink Canyon Clay cardstock!

Once all the pieces were cut I used liquid glue and foam tape to prep the slider as per the instructions from the how to video on Lawn Fawn. Those were set aside while I prepped all my images. I stamped a variety of cactus, greenery, rocks, the cake, the snake from Lawn Fawn Critters in the Desert stamp set. I also stamped and die cut the cake and candles from the same set. Those will go into the inside of the slider, but it was also set aside after colouring.

The images were coloured with Copic markers and die cut using the co-ordinating dies. The die cuts were arranged over the front of the hill and attached below the score line so that the slide mechanism is able to lift up and display everything that was attached below the fold line.

This is when I paused and was able to stamp the sentiment on the inside of the slider. I also stamped Happy Birthday on the top of the slider that is hidden when closed. I used the die cut cake and candles as a guide to help me find where to stamp. They were glued in after the stamping was done.

Some additional greenery and rocks were adhered to the slider base. This is the one that holds the slider but does not move. I closed the slider and glued the additional greenery so that the slider would tuck right into it when it's closed right in. So fun!

Thank you so much for stopping in today and I hope I have inspired you to try something new like an interactive card. This die set was

Color Hues Challenge #111

Today is the start of a brand new colour duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge!

Teammate Sheri Gilson has chosen Coral and Green as the colors for challenge #111!

I used one of my favourite sets from PinkFresh Studios called Amazing Things. I stamped then stencilled the image with the co-ordinating stencils using Cathrine Pooler inks--Garden Party, Martini, Do-Si-Do, Coral Cabana and Samba. The image was die cut with the Amazing Things dies.

The background was embossed using the Spellbinders Plaid Company detailed embossing folder. I love the way it looks with the flower in front of it.

The sentiment is from Waffle Flower's Essential Sentiments. It is a go to set for me. I love all the sentiments and the size is perfect for most designs. I stamp and cut multiple sentiments as well as the shadows so they are handy to add a quick sentiment or a layered sentiment to a project.

Including the top the sentiment is three layers thick. I glued it down slightly over the leaf just so you see a peek of it through the tiny hold under the H of happy.

I'm also submitting this one to the Seize the Birthday challenge. I really need to get making birthday cards for all types of recipients. I can never seem to have the one I need! 😉

Color Hues Color Challenge #110

Hi there crafty friends!

Today is also the start of a brand new colour duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge! Teammate Karen Walker has chosen Pink and Plum as the colors for challenge #110!

I used my newest Concord & 9th turnabout stamp called Artisan Petals. The four colours I used were all Catherine Pooler Inks--Cotton Candy, It's a Girl, Sangria and Merlot.

I cut the design with the largest of the Lawn Fawn Outside In stitched rectangles and added it to the card base with liquid adhesive.

The sentiment is from the same stamp set an I white embossed it on a piece of pink cardstock that seemed to work the best with these ink colours. I trimmed it down and added it to the centre of the card front with foam tape.

I'm also submitting this card to Seize the Birthday #305 with the option of flowers!

Lunar New Years Challenge - May

Today I'm sharing my May card for the Lunar New Year Challenge. Check out this months sponsors below. I used both Lawn Fawn and Trinity Stamps for my card this month.

I started off by stamping and die cutting all of the images I was using for my card. Then I coloured all of the images with Copic markers.

Jar - BG0000, BG10, BG11
LID - T6, T4, T2, T1
Money - YG11, YG13, YG17, Y11, Y13, Y15, Y17
Snake - R22, R21
Hat - V12, V15
Balloons - B02, B000, Y3, Y5, R22, R24

The background paper is from Lawn Fawn Spiffier Speckles and it was cut with the largest die from the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangles. I used the 12 x 12 version of the paper, but the 6 x 6 paper would work just as well. I linked to them both below.

Next I attached the jar and the external bills and coins directly to the card base, . I added the money inside with Scrapbook Adhesives Thin 3D Foam Squares.

I put tiny micro dots behind the snake to elevate it over the jar. I did not trust myself to cut several layers of the snake and glue together without making a mess. I added some dots to the party hat with a white gel pen.

I did however, cut three layers of the white SSSSSalutations sentiment and then glued them together with the coloured layer over the top!

The Trinity Stamps Party Snake is such a fun set to use with the cute, NOT REAL, snake and punny sentiments. Matched together with the fun Lawn Fawn How you Bean? Money Add On makes for a cheerful Lunar New Year card.

Thank you so much for stopping in today and I hope that you've been inspired to look at stamp sets you have that are not from the same company and how you can combine them together to make something new and unique!

Color Hues Color Challenge #109

Hi there crafty friends!

Today is also the start of a brand new colour duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge! Teammate Marcia Hill is our hostess this challenge and has chosen Blue and Yellow as the colors for challenge #109

I used the new to me Concord & 9th Hello & Thanks dies for a twofer. I cut the letters once from blue and once from yellow cardstock and mixed them up to make two thanks sentiments.

For both cards the shadow was cut from Lawn Fawn's Bitsy Blooms paper pack. The cardstock letters were glued to the shadow.

...and the twofer!

Then the coordinating paper in the pack was cut with the largest die from the Lawn Fawn Outside In Stitched Rectangle. Once that was glued into place the Thanks sentiment was attached with foam tape.

Color Hues Color Challenge #108

Hi there crafty friends!

Today is also the start of a brand new colour duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge! Color Hues creator Nancy has chosen Lilac and Aqua as the colours for challenge #108. I used a favourite, Simon Says Stamp Friendship Leafy Clusters stamps, stencils and dies for my card.

I started off by cutting a panel that was 4 1/2" x 3 1/4". I stamped the leaf images from the Friendship Leafy Clusters with Catherine Pooler Pebble ink to cover the white panel. I stamped a sentiment from the stamp set on to the panel. It was adhered directly to an A2 card base with foam tape.

I stamped and die cut one leaf cluster to mimic, one leaf on the background. Then I used the coordinating stencils to colour the leaf with this weeks colours of aqua and lilac. They were stencilled with Salvaged Patina and Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide inks. This was added over top of its coordinating shape on the white 4 1/2" x 3 1/4" panel with foam dots.

I stamped and die cut friends from the stamp set plus two more from white. These were adhered together with liquid glue and it was glued to the white 4 1/2" x 3 1/4" panel.
