Color Hues #63

We have a new color duo over at the the Color Hues Color Challenge for Challenge #63!

My card was not planned, it just happened--lol!
I think all crafters know how that goes. It all started with foiling! I rarely throw away the  negative piece of foil after foiling. I recently bought the PinkFresh Solid rectangle foil die so that I could use up those pieces to create solid foiled backgrounds.

I had already foiled the Lawn Fawn Clouds foil plate with cyan foil, that card is at the end of this post. I chose to use the negative from the foiled paper as my first attempt with the PinkFresh Solid rectangle foil die. When I peeled the foil off of the background paper, what was left was magic...and that my friends was the start of my card for this week!

My piece of foil had been completely used, no waste! The panel was cut with the Lawn Fawn's Outside In Stitched dies and the rest of the die cuts are from Lawn Fawn's Fly High stamp set. Images were coloured with Copic Markers.

I added some prisma glitter to the hot air balloon and it's banner.

Trying to capture the shine from the foil and the glitter is tricky.

I have loved using new goodies from Lawn Fawn's spring release this year.

I used the original foiled piece to make a second card, this one is a shaker.

Being able to use every piece of foil completely makes this die one of my must haves. If you foil, I highly recommend it!

Thanks for stopping in today and I hope you head over to the Color Hues Color Challenge to see what the rest of the team has made, you will not be disappointed!

I didn't think I needed a solid foil plate until I read your post and saw your card. "Waste not, want IT ALL" is how the phrase should go. LOLOLOL! Both cards are as darling as can be! Love the sparkly UP on the shaker card too! Thanks for the inspiration, my dear!

Fabulously fun cards Tracey, and wonderful to be able not to have bits left over.

I love both cards! You're right the background of the first one is just magical! I don't think I've ever seen cyan foil used before but it's fantastic. Love that hot air balloon, as well. So much fun!

These are both as cute as they can be and cheerful too! I'm still getting the hang of this foiling thing. You've nailed it, Tracey!

Both of these cards are totally AWESOME Tracey!! What a wonderful background foil plate and yes it is a great way not to waste any of that beautiful foil by using the solid foil plate...I use mine all the time!! Seriously though, both of your cards are absolutely ADORABLE and a great way to show off the color combo this time around! Hugs. :0)

I love being able to use the negative foil pieces too, Tracey. Both of your little scenes with the hot air balloons are so fun but especially the shaker one.

This is stunning!!! And I love how you got two cards out of the piece. One bold. One shaker. Perfect!

Such super cute cards Tracey, each with it's own look despite using the same products (well except for the shaker part)! That solid plate is definitely a game changer and I'm so glad it worked well for you to create that darling first card!

Will you ladies stop making such fab foiled cards, my resistance to purchasing one is rapidly disappearing! Such a fun way to use up your left overs! :)

When I saw your first card, it brought back great memories... I hosted a baby shower for my SIL having quads, and the theme was hot air balloons and elepahnts! Same colors too! Thanks for visiting and commenting on my blog!

Tracey, you've created a sweet, charming, delightful duo of cards! The clouds are fabulous and the little ellie and mouse, enjoying their hot air balloon ride, are quite the cutie-patooties! Love these!

So great the plate worked perfectly your first try! I know people who have it, but had different results. I agree about the magic when you pull back the negative foil as I've done it when foiling a toner card. Your card is absolutely wonderful! Sorry I'm so late getting here--always behind on blog reading these days.
