The Best Summer Ever - July 2019

It's the last day of the month and that means the 12 Kits of Occasions!

We had the such fun kit this month full of summertime, pretty papers and die cuts all thanks to 12 Kits of Occasions designer Marybeth Lopez from Marybeth's Time for Paper! I was having trouble getting over my paper hoarding obsession with this kit. I loved the papers so much I didn't want to cover them up. Do you have that problem?

Okay so on with what you are here for today. I was able to make four fun, summery cards with Marybeth's kit.

I started off with a shaker card using this beautiful delicate die cut window...

This one was a natural...

Love these beautiful blooms for Concord & 9th...

Ice cream and watermelon--two summer favourites!

All together:

Please pop around to see what the rest of the 12 Kits Design Team has made this month, here is the link to the full list on the 12 Kits of Occasions blog!  I am sure you wont be disappointed!

MFT Stamps Camp Create 2019 - Spectacular Shakers

Happy Monday! I know most people dread Monday morning but sometimes it is nice to think of Monday as a fresh start to a new week. On Saturday I went on a road trip with a few of my Toronto crafty friends--Ardyth Percy-Robb, Karen Boyce, Tasha Kara and Jessica McAfee to cross the border to Buffalo and attend a stamp class being taught by another one of our friends Stephanie Klauck! An extremely hot day but we had such a great time and we made some cute cards too, slow me needs to finish up a bit of colouring so I can post them!

I am back today earning another badge for MFT Stamps Camp Create 2019!

For today's card I created a shaker using the Heart Shaker Trio Window and Heart Shaker Trio Pouches along with the new Over the Rainbow paper pack! I used a sentiment from the new Bitty Birthday Wishes to finish off my clean and simple card! All the products that I used are linked below.

MFT Stamps Camp Create 2019 - Remarkable Resist

I am back again earning another badge for MFT Stamps Camp Create 2019!

For Day 2 I used an older rubber backed stamp for my resist card, I used the beautiful Etched Flower Background. I stamped and embossed it with white embossing powder and then blended my new favourite Distress Oxide colour combination of Scattered Straw, Worn Lipstick and Festive Berries! My sentiment was cut twice from white cardstock and once from golf sparkle cardstock. The three layers were glued together, this is something I struggle with getting stacked die cuts lined up properly!

MFT Stamps Camp Create 2019 - Wonderful Watercolours

Happy Summer,
Excited to be participating in MFT Stamps Camp Create 2019!

I am now 6 week post-op and I am back in my craft room again!
I am feeling good and relatively pain free for the first time in two years. It is going to be some time before I have full range of motion again and I am still on orders to take it easy--no stretching, trying not to use my right arm and NO lifting! Every day is better and I should be starting physio in another week.

Anyway on to earning my first badge for Day 1 Wonderful Watercolour!

I was so inspired by Stephanie's video using the Daniel Smith Color Burst powders that I decided it was time for me to break open a set I have had a long time. One thing had forgotten about the powders is how highly pigmented they are--a little goes a long long way! So I created a rainbow on Watercolour paper and it was beautiful but if you know me it was a big too bold! So once it was dry I selectively stamped a bunch of fishes from the BB Gill Friends on to my warcoloured panel to create my tropical fish which I fussy cut.  I used Distress Oxide inks to create an ocean background then I created the sand bottom using the clothes line die from the Bundle of Baby Clothes die-namics! Finally the fish were added to create the scene! Great masculine birthday card or great for little kids too!

Tag You're It #91 - REMINDER

There is still time to play along at Tag You're It for Challenge #91 - Summer Fruit!
You have until July 17th at 9:00 am EST to submit your tags!

I used my Queen & Company Fruit Basket Shaker Kit for my tag. I have been wanting to make a pink grapefruit shaker for a long time and I love the little pink grapefruit fillers that come with the kit! My background for the tag was created by blending Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide Inks. The cute pink grapefruit shakers were made with the kit ingredients. The yellow and pink patterned papers from the Fruit Basket 6" x 6" paper pad have pictures of tiny citrus slices on them--so cute!

Rainbow Birthday

Have you had a chance yet to check out the Avery Elle Rainbows stamp and die set?
It was so popular when it released it sold out everywhere the first day!

I was able to get it when it came back in stock and I received it the day I went in for my surgery, so it had to go into the pile of things to play with once I recovered.  I am almost there, each day I am getting better and hopefully before long I will be doing all the things I was able to do before I broke my collarbone almost 2 years ago.

In the meantime my baby girl turned 22 and I knew I had to create a card for her with this set. So over the course of many days, a bit at a time I made this card for her. I would totally recommend this set, it's so much fun and there are so many options for different designs you can make with it. I have linked to this genius stamp set and the die below with my affiliate link that you can use at no cost to you.
