Bye, Bye Birdie - February '15 and RetroSketches #155

Happy Saturday and on this non-leap year today is the day we are unveiling our creations at the 12 Kits of Occasions.  Sharron is our hostess for February and the theme is birds. Sharron sent us the mos fabulous kit filled with gorgeous Prima papers, die cut grasses, branches and birds, birds and more birds. I could have and will still be able to make so many  more cards with all the goodies she sent to us.  So grab a cuppa and let get on with the cards.

I used this week's sketch from Freshly Made Sketches #175 for the following card.

This card was made for this week's new RetroSketches sketch #155.

I used the sketch from the Wednesday Sketch Challenge #217 at MFT Card Challenges for my next card. It was a great way to showcase so many papers from the kit while using MFT Die-namics First Place Award Ribbon and a sentiment from Sea Life.

I love these adorable long legged birds from Technique Tuesday.

For this one I let the beautiful paper stand on it's own.

I am also submitting these cards to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Anything Goes!

Here are all my cards lined up on the windowsill.

Tracey, I have just seen this 12 Kits of Occasion idea on Joyce's blog and it looks amazing!! Your cards are absolutely beautiful, and as a big fan of birds, they are particularly appealing! I haven't heard of 12 Kits of Occasion before. What's it all about?

Each card is fantastic, Tracey. And, I cannot believe that you made them all during the night time when most people are asleep, but that is what I'm pretty sure you did. Fantastic idea to use all those sketches, and now you have reminded me of some fantastic sketches out there this week that I can play along with also. Love seeing your cards all lined up together.

Your cards are each so delightful and well done!! I am especially impressed by the way you were able to meet so many challenges with these same cards!! Love the one where the bird is perched on the porch swing and also the one with all the banners going sideways!! Cool stuff and I am just so glad I got to see all your hard and excellent work!!!

The birdie on the swing that I didnt think of (DUH!) and how you left the parrots uncolored! You still wow me girl!

You not only did a fabulous job with your kit, Tracey, you managed to find challenges to fit your cards. Love the bird on a swing but those long legged ones always take my heart.

Loooo-ve the heron with the lovely patterned paper banners! And that Thinking of You card is simply perfect, so serene and peaceful. Those adorable tall birdies (must get those)! are so sweet with the whimsical cloud paper. And I love the bird on the swing with that sunny hexagon paper. Amazing array of cards, Tracey!

Lindsey said...

Tracey, these are brilliant! I totally agree with everything Kelly said. I super love your banner card. (And thanks to Kelly, now I know it is a heron. ;) Don't tell Sharron...I'm slightly ashamed with my minuscule bird knowledge.) I love how each of the patterned papers is so perfectly suited to the design and bird you paired it with. Definitely going to be CASEing these.
