The Card Concept: Challenge #2 - Using texture

tracey_CC-cover

Ready for a brand new challenge at The Card Concept?

Our new challenge is a texture challenge, so you as a participant will create your card based on one of the six defined styles from The Card Concept and incorporate texture in your design. Think of all the different types of texture you can add--heat or dry embossing, dimension, die cuts, accents, fabric, felt...the list goes on.

For my card I was really inspired by the gorgeous inspiration photo. I wanted to recreate the scene with texture but staying true to my CAS style.  I embossed the card base with stitching lines, I embossed then die cut the smaller panel, die cut the grass, house and roof. The roof is clear embossed. The smaller panel is raised slightly with foam tape and finally I added  wood heart veneer on the door (thank you Any Tsuruta).  Lots of dimension added but my design remains CAS.
