Clean & Simple Card Making - Day 1 (part 1)

I am almost embarrassed to post my projects for Day 1 on the very early morning of Day 9. I was so excited when I registered for this fabulous Clean & Simple Card Making class hosted by Kristina Werner, Jennifer McGuire, Julie Ebersole & Friends.   I have been a fan of these ladies for a long time and to have a chance to learn something from them is the best.  I have been making cards since my teens but there is always something new to learn and these classes do not disappoint.  I registered late (last Wednesday) and woke up Thursday morning with a migraine--lost the next 4 days.  :(  Monday and Tuesday were busy with family.  We are up to our eyeballs with ISUs, exams and sickness.  So I am just getting going with the classes and I am so excited to complete them.  Of course I may be late.

Our first topic was using simple sketches. I used the same format as the card Kristina created but made a welcome baby card for my new great nephew.  To make this card I pulled out a Hero Arts stamp that I have never used (shame on me) for my background, I love it and I think I will start using it on more projects.

All Supplies are from Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted:

Cardstock: Spring Moss
Stamps:  Button Boutique, Dots and Flowers (Hero Arts)
Ink: Spring Moss
other: buttons, white Signo Uni-Ball pen

Oh, what a CUTE one! The monotone color scheme is perfect with that border and I LOVE the way you tied the accent buttons to the sentiment! Sorry about your migraine, hope you are feeling better!

What a wonderful card. It was worth waiting for. I was determined to take the entire class (on time). It is officially day 9, and I am hoping to start work on day 7 soon. So, join the club, and I hope you are feeling better.

Beautiful , simple card. As usual you did a wonderful job. So you recommend the class or is it way too late?
So sorry about all the sickness, and the migraine, that can wipe you out even after its gone.

I am glad you are finding time to participate at last! I hope you are feeling better. ;-) Your card is so nice - a perfect 'little one' card. I am intimidated by the faux stitching drawn by hand - I'm not very good at it! But you make it look so easy and feasible. I should give it a try. ;-) Nice job!
