CCC #129

Happy Tuesday and time for a new Cue Card at CASology!
We have a very special treat for you this week complete with a guest of honor!

This week our our cue word is:

I imagine you have guessed who that guest of honor is, Darnell the creator of the popular catch phrase NBUS! Never Before Used Schuff!

I have never had so much trouble choosing a stamp set for CASology as I did this week--that could be for one or all of these reasons...

- I have a lot of NBUS in my possession
- I wanted to pick just the right schuff
- I was overthinking it

Yup, all of the above!

I bought this set from Simon Says Stamps the night it was released because I wanted the scarf image in the set that bad. Then it has taken me this long to use the set, I still have not inked up the scarf!

Stop over to CASology today and see what SCHUFF the rest of the design team has come up with.

Guest of Honor: Darnell
Guest Designer: Ashwini

Hope to see you play along with us this week! I am sure you have what you need for this cue!
I am linking my card up to Darnell's  NBUS Challenge #3!

.................

Yesterday was my son's 20th birthday!

As most of you know they grow up so fast.  I still see him as my little buddy even though he towers over me now.  I had such a fun time putting this photo collage together I could have included at least another 100 photos. The very first photo of him playing in the mud is my favourite photo of him ever. He spent hours that day playing in the mud in his rubber boots and he did not get dirty.

I didn't see him yesterday as he is back at school, but his girlfriend took him out for dinner and that is how it should be when you are 20.

Muse 99, Darnell's NBUS challenge, Color Throwdown and a new technique, to me...

I hope that you are having a wonderful Sunday.
It has been a really long time since I played over at Muse, but I love Vicki's card inspiration and I was feeling in the mood to create something just because.

I have had this Impression Obsession die for almost a year and I have never used it before. I guess I was waiting for the right moment. I also used the love die from the original Papertrey Wet Paint dies

I wanted to do some inlaid die cutting and I wanted to keep the white centres of the hearts that were two cuts.  Enter lazy here, I am not very patient picking away. So I tried something new to simplify the process. First I die cut the heart from my white panel, then I flipped it over and applied adhesive to the borders and then laid strips of score tape over the opening of the die, removed the backing and set it aside.

Before I die cut the heart on the red cardstock I wiped a fabric softener sheet over the plate I was cutting into on my Big Shot. Then I die cut the red heart and carefully removed the die to keep all the pieces intact. Next I removed the inside red pieces from the double cut hearts. Here is the fun part I carefully laid the heart die cut over the front of my white panel, lining it up and then pressed down gently rubbing the pieces into place. It made the coolest sounds as the pieces stuck to the panel. When you remove the panel all the red pieces are inlaid (well with only a few tiny pieces that fell out en route). Easy peasy.

I am submitted this to the Color Throwdown #324.

I am also submitted this to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #3, thanks Darnell for getting me use my schuff!!

I am also submitting this to the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge Something New.

Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge Reminder

This is my second post today, if you are looking for my Card Concept post, click HERE.
.....

There is still time to join us for the Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge!

You have until January 10th at 8:00 AM CST to be inspired and share your project!

head over heals in love with Altenew`s Hennah Elements!

I have two cards to share today. The first card has the image embossed with Delicata Golden Glitz ink and clear embossing powder. A trick I learned from Michelle Ferguson (I Card Everyone) when she came to visit me in November. I wish the camera (or my photography) could capture how truly luscious it looks!

The back of my card is adorned with my new BossyJoscie stamp.

For take two I used my Delicata ink without embossing and I used the border stamp from the set at the top stamped with VersaFine.

On the back of this card is another new personalized stamp that my sweet friend Kim (Cupcakes, Cards and Kim), who knows me SO SO well had made for me. Click on it for a good read and you will likely nod your head because you know that I rarely sleep--LOL

I am also submitting these to Darnell's NBUS Challenge #3

I am also submitting these to One Layer Simplicity, OLS12 - Attractive Opposites. This is my first time submitting to OLS, I hope I have done it right.  My opposites on both cards are are gold and black--they are opposites right? Also large and small, large image and small sentiment. On the first card I also used shiny and mat, clear embossing and mat sentiment.

and I am submitting t his to Virginia's View Challenge #11 - Clean Slate!

Have a wonderful day!
