MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #493

A last minute entry for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #493!
I am really trying to get going on my Christmas cards this year so that I don't get caught without enough when the busiest time of the year comes.

I purchased the the Merry Moments stamp set last Christmas and I didn't have a chance to ink it up, so it was kind of fun to pull it out for the sketch. I ended up making two cards because I got lost in the process and where I had set out to use this month's colours along with the sketch...then well you know how it goes! The snow was made with the Snow Drifts Cover die which I think is retired now. The sky on both cards was made with Distress Oxide Inks and splattered with watered down Perfect Pearls and white acrylic paint to mimic a snowy sky!

This first card uses both the sketch and the colors! The sky reminds my of the Northern Lights and the polar and santa are enjoying the view!

This card is the same, just a different sky and just based on the sketch.

Thanks for popping in today and I hope that it is anything but wintertime where you are!

CCC #205, FT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #287 and Color Challenge #48

It's time for a new cue card at CASology!

This week`s new cue is:

I stenciled my chevron background with blue distress ink, I must have taken my photo 20 times and played around with it in Photoshop to make it stand out in the photo like it does in real life. Squint a bit and you'll see it--lol! and I stamped the leaf image over the stenciled background and then I added the flower popped up with foam tape! I added some Wink of Stella to the flower centre and then added my sentiment.

I am also submitting this to the MFT Stamps Wednesday Sketch Challenge #287 and the Color Challenge #48!

Happy Monday!

We had a successful weekend, getting both of the kids moved. A long day and a lot of teamwork. We got Ben into his new apartment for next fall. Mom and Dad are happy because it is a much nicer place and in a much nicer part of town than he has spent the last two years in. We got everything out of Brooklyn's dorm room and brought her home for the summer, she starts training for her summer job in two weeks.  Ben stayed for the weekend to get himself settled in and he is coming home today for the week and then he heads down into Toronto for the summer for his internship. So there will be a lot of coming and going all summer but also a lot more time spent together as a family than we have had in the past few years.  Thought I would share some of the photos I took during the packup:

On Sunday I had a chance to create a card for the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #277 and the Color Challenge #43. I finally broke out my new March Warm & Fuzzy Friends Kit. The images and sentiments are so fun!

Time for this week's Sketch at RetroSketches!

Our sketch this week is based on a gorgeous card by RetroSketches designer Jeni Allen.

I combined this weeks sketch with My Favorite Things Colour Challenge #19.
I was itching to play with my You Make My Tail Wag stamps and dies so thus our blue doggie appears, isn't he cute?

I am also submitting this to this week's Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - April Showers! and to Addicted to CAS #61 - Showers. What does my card have to do with those you might ask, I think it is pretty self explanatory--LOL!

Heading up to Sudbury today to visit Ben at school and to attend the Year end Open House.
I love to have the opportunity to see what he has been up to at school this year.  It is a 5 hours trip upp there but i am driving to his girlfriend house to meet up with her parents (that is halfway) then driving up with them so that saves a bit of the driving for me. Ben is coming home for a few days to study so he will be covering the driving on the way home.

Have a Happy Saturday!
