Color Hues #135

Hello Crafty friends! It's time for another new color duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge! Challenge #135 was chosen by fabulous teammate Carol and she has chosen Yellow an Black for us!

My mind went right to Bumble bees! I has seen so many of them in my garden the past week. We had a slow start into the warmer weather this year. In fact we are back chilly again this week after a week of having a heat wave!

I used some older products from Studio Katia! These I made sure I saved because they are the cutest little bumble bees! I started off by stamping and colouring a few bumble bees with Copic markers and then cutting them out.

Bumble Bees:
Y13, Y15, Y17, T0, T1, T2

My back ground started by ink blending Tim Holtz Wild Honey and Squeezed Lemonade Distress Oxide inks in a top to bottom gradient. Then I cut the panel out with an old Studio Katia Cover Plate called Mini Hexagons. It was glued down to the card base with liquid glue.

The letter's are from Lawn Fawn, Henry's ABC'S. I cut them with black cardstock and added them to the card front with small pieces of foam dots.

The bumble bees were also added to the card base with foam tape.
I went over all the wings with clear Wink of Stella. It is pretty much impossible to photograph it but beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

If you haven't had a chance yet, head over to the Color Hues blog to see what my teammates have done! They along with our two guest designers have done an amazing job once again. I hope to see you play along with us!

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!

Those bees are adorable, Tracey, and the highlights on them make them glow. They look happy flying around the bold sentiment.

Such a happy card, Tracey! I'm not seeing any bees here. Usually the lantana is covered with them, but not this year. It's worrisome! Seeing the bees on your card makes me happy, my friend!

Your bees are so cute Tracey and perfect for this colour challenge. The ombre look of your hexagon plate die cut works so well too. :)

Those bees!!! The smiley faces just kill me and I'm so in love with the hexagon background and your beautiful ink blending. And the perfect letter placement of the sentiment (on tiny bits of foam) is very impressive! Such a fabulous and fun card, Tracey!!

Those bees are adorable! Your coloring makes them look almost 3-dimensional! Lining up that bold sentiment must have taken some time but worth the effort. This is such a fun card!
