Color Hues #60

Hi there friends, thanks so much for popping in. It has been a busy few weeks with too many days that I didn't even have time or energy to go into my craft room. I know crazy, right?

We have a new color duo over at the the Color Hues Color Challenge for Challenge #60! Design team member Marcia chose our new colours so let me introduce you to Blue and Turquoise!

One of my favourite co-ordinating sets of all time is PinkFresh Butterflies. I have the stamps, dies and stencils with the hot foil plate on my wishlist. I stamped and black heat embossed the butterflies, then I used Catherine Pooler inks in Dress Blues and Fiesta Blue along with the stencils for my card.

The sentiment is from a now retired set from MFT Stamps called Handwritten Happiness. Any type of sentiment from your favourites could be used with a butterfly.

The heat embossing makes the stenciling so much easier.

The areas where the blue meets the turquoise makes the loveliest hue of the two colours combined.

I added foam tape behind the panel and behind the butterfly for a bit of dimension.

I have a bit of both here, a beautiful blue butterfly and a sure sign of spring.

Please pop over to the Color Hues Color Challenge to see what the rest of the team has made, you will not be disappointed! Happy hopping!

Hi friends and Happy Friday. I'm back again hopping with Scrap N' Stamp Canada on Instagram for the Bunnies 'N Baskets Inspiration Hop!

Please comment on my Instagram @traceymcneely for your chance to win a $50 gift certificate for the Scrap 'n Stamp Canada store.

I used the new Scrap N' Stamp Bunnies 'N Baskets kit for my projects today!

For this first card I used the cardstock in the kit to make my own striped background paper. The hot air balloon was coloured with Copics.

The second card is a shaker also using the kit. The patterned papers are Lawn Fawn Spiffy Speckles, one of my favourites. The shaker sprinkles are also from the kit.

There is also a sale on select spring products at the Scrap 'N Stamp online store!

Don't forget you need to comment on my Instagram @traceymcneely for your chance to win!

Color Hues #59

Hi there friends!

How can it be March the 1st already! We start a new challenge today at the Color Hues Color Challenge for Challenge #59! Design team member Carol chose our new colours of green & gold.

I couldn't decide if I was going to make Something using the January Catherine Pooler Club Sursee kit or something with the Pinkfresh Studio Detailed Leaf hot foil plate. I know, right? So why not both!

My first card was made using the Catherine Pooler Club Sursee January kit. I stamped and die cut two sizes of clover images from the Clovers & Blooms stamp set. The 'lucky' word die was cut three times from white cardstock and once from Sizzix mirror gold opulent cardstock. All the layers were glued together with the gold on top.

Once arranged everything on the card front. I positioned the 'to have you' sentiment from the Lucky Charm stamp set. Some pieces were glued directly to the card front and some were added with foam tape. The front stitched panel was added to the card base with foam tape.

A little closer look at the shine.

My second care was made using the PinkFresh Studio's Detailed Leaf hot foil plate and the matching PinkFresh Studio Detailed Leaf stencil set. The imagine was first hot foiled in gold and then stenciled using three different green inks (listed below).

The image was cut with the coordinating die and added to a stitched rectangle with foam tape.

The sentiment is Studio Katia's Birthday Greetings heat embossed in gold.

This is such a gorgeous die!

Be sure to head over to the Color Hues Color Challenge if you haven't been there yet to see what my fabulous teammates have made for green & gold.

Thanks so much for stopping in today!
