I have a card that I made using the new MFT Stamps Greetings From the Couch card kit! I love everything about this kit, so many fabulous (tiny) die cuts and a great assortment of sentiments to convey just about any message!
I started with the photo inspiration from Time Out Challenge #215.
From the photo I took the furniture, the colours dark blue and gold then I went to work cutting couches and chairs and curtains and keepsakes.
To create the sky outside the window I cut the Picture Window frame from the kit in white and trimmed down the border. Then I cut a similar sized piece of Bristol Smooth cardstock. Using Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide ink I stenciled the My Favorite Things Rolling Clouds over the Bristol Smooth panel.
Then I cut the ink blended piece with the Picture Window die once again keeping track of the pieces. The white Picture Window was added to my scene and then I inlaid the sky pieces into the panes!
The curtains were hung using papers from the new Finishes & Textiles 6 x 6 paper pad--I am so in love with these patterns!! I added the bookshelf in black accented with a cactus in a pot, a gold statue and some assorted books! To finish off the scene I added a chair decorated with a blanket and accent pillows.
The final addition was to chose a sentiment! I don't know if it just me but sometimes that is what takes the longest. I could almost use every sentiment from the set but I narrowed it down by where I could place it on the card. I know that I only have on chance to stamp it now that rest of the card is put together! Use my MISTI? Maybe but the couple pieces of foam tape I used on the chair make it so that it won't quite close. Previous disasters told me to just place it in my MISTI and stamp with an acrylic block!! How did we manage with those all those years ago! Deep breath...done!
This was such a fun card to make. I love the feeling I had when creating it. Many of you know that I have been struggling with energy for a long time. So when something actually comes together it feels really good!
I am also submitting to the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
Thank you so much for visiting me today!
