RetroSketches #163

IMG_7875

Happy Saturday!

Time for a new sketch at RetroSketches!

I used papers from Echo Park's Sunny Days Ahead to substitute for the elements of the sketch. I laid the Simon Says Stamps Raindrops stencil over the card and applied translucent embossing paste to mimic the rain. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps Abby's Showers stamp set.

My card is 3 3/4" x 5", I made that fatal error of cutting my patterned paper just a week bit short. So being the hoarder that I am I decided to make the whole card smaller rather than cut another piece of my precious paper. You never know I may have to cover the outside of my house one day using my patterned paper and wouldn't want to be one 6 x 6 piece of paper short short--LOL

What a fun detail the raindrops are!! This is so CUTE Tracey!!. I'm sure if you came up a piece or two short when covering your house, one of us crazy craft hoarders would have JUST what you needed!!!

Such a fun card, Tracey! I love these sweet papers and your translucent raindrops are fabulous! I totally 'get' the hoarding thing...I think I could wallpaper my craft room with all the 12 x 12 cardstock and papers I have leftover from my scrapbooking days...no joke :)

Umbrellas and raindrops are perfect together! This is such a sweet card and I love your story about not wanting to waste the paper - I'm the same way! And I've also thought about how much of my home could be covered with all the paper that I have! I definitely need a 12x12 step program!

Thanks so much for sharing your cute card and great story!

Hahahahhaha...chuckling at the thought of your house covered in patterned paper...and knowing you, all the patterns would be perfectly selected to coordinate, with all sheets precisely aligned! Your card: a delight in every way! The raindrops really do steal the show...
