RS #7 & Paper Dolls Challenge #47: A Little Fruity

Do you remember being a teenager?  I do with fond memories but wouldn't want to go back.  If you are a parent of a teenage girl you know all about what I am going to tell you.  My daughter is 14, almost 15, and she is a wonderful girl--sweet, smart, liked, a leader and a fantastic daughter.  No matter how many times I let her know that I think all those things about her, she says that I am just saying that because I am her Mom.  For the RetroSketch #7 challenge I decided that she could use a card to put on her bulletin board in her room so that she is always reminded that she is "The apple of my eye".  I am also posting this card for the Paper Dolls Challenge #47: A Little Fruity.  Jen Carter is the host for this challenge and gave me a good reason to pull out my Fruit Fusion stamps and dies.  The challenge was to include fruit on your card and use a sketch--an apple and a RetroSketch!  Perfect.

All Supplies are from Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted:

Cardstock:  White, Pure Poppy
Patterned Paper:  Apples from Fruitti Tutti
Clear Stamps: Fruit Fusion Apple, Button Boutique
Ink:  Simply Chartreuse, Pure Poppy (PTI), Memento Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Dies:  Apple, Button Boutique, Hearts Border
Other: foam tape, foam dots, corner rounder

This is really cute Tracey! I love that you used that paper with the image! I have to admit I bought that paper but have yet to use even one piece of it yet! You may have just inspired me to pull it out finally!! I also love how you popped up the apple in the center! Thank you for playing along with the Paper Dolls challenge!

Love this card. I was just thinking that I need to pull out my fruit fusions. You did a great job with this sketch, too. I know exactly what you mean about 14 year old girls, and have had some of those same conversations with mine. I should make her a card, is what I should do!

Love your card Tracey. They layering is beautiful! And no, we never did find out why my DD had a burrito in her purse. She put it in there for some unknown reason and forgot about it! She is always entertaining, that is for sure!

Your card is gorgeous, Tracey, and I love how everything pops off the red background. I know when my mom would tell me stuff like that I'd roll my eyes but was always secretly pleased so I'm sure your daughter will treasure this. :)
