All my birds are back in the nest!

IMG_2820

Happy Saturday and what a happy day it is for me!

As many of you know my husband's job has taken him first to the other side of Canada and then for the last four months to Wisconsin.  He came home almost every three week's, except when things at work were crazy.  The last time he was home was 7 weeks ago when we took our son up to university.  So for the last 7 weeks my daughter and I have looked after things here.

Well today my husband is coming home and picking up my son from university on his way.  My husband is coming home to stay and will be working a 30 minute drive from home, hopefully for a long while. My son, Ben, has a fall reading week so he will be home for a week!

So I am a happy wife and mom today because all of my birds are going to be back in the nest!

I used my very neglected Lawn Fawn Home Sweet Home set to create a card for my family. Brooklyn and I at home waiting on the arrival of the boys! A little Glossy Accents on the heart to finish it off.

CCC #8 - Family & Dynamic Duos #18

It's week #9 at CASology and this week our cue word is:

I went through a list of things I love to do with my family.  When the kids were younger we spent every single summer camping.  I am admittedly a princess, I don't do tents.  However, I love camping, as long as I am able to take my washroom, bed and air conditioner with me!  On separate trips we have traveled right across Canada, up to northern Ontario, across the north west states, to Iowa, Illinois, Florida, and South Carolina in our travel trailer.  We don't have it anymore, our family got too big for it and our summers these past few years have been very rugby dominated.  There are lots of good memories of camping, so my card for this week features the theme of camping.

My focal image is a digi image from Market Street Stamps from their Block Party in June.  I didn't get to play along, but I had to use this adorable camper image.  I coloured my image with Copics in the red which was one of the original colours that the Shasta Camper came in all those years ago.  I debossed my focal panel using the Linen & Canvas Impression Plate from Papertrey Ink.  It is one of my favourites but it does not ever photograph well for me.

I may not have quite enough green on my card but I am also entering this card over at Dynamic Duos for challenge #18.  Just check out the curtains! ;)

Head on over to CASology today to learn what the `cue card`means to you, how you can play along and see the all the cards created by the Design Team to inspire you.

Don`t forget to visit the blogs of the other members of the Design Team:
Tracey McNeely (that`s me)

and this week's Guest Designer Debbie (winner of CCC #7 - GREEN)

I can't wait to see what FAMILY means to you!

Dynamic Duos #17 - Monochromatic Color Combo

Purple is my favourite colour and Dynamic Duos Monocromatic Color Challenge features using Wisteria Wonder and Concord Crush.  I translated it into Paptertrey's Winter Wisteria and Plum Pudding.  After being on my wish list for a long time I finally purchased Love Lives Here from Papertrey, what a perfect chance to ink it up.  I am also entering this card in the Moxie Fab World Card Design Week: Repetition Challenge.  Here is my card for this week:

My kids are back to school tomorrow.  They are back a week earlier than most of Ontario as they are on a modified school year.   Back a week now and then they get a week off in November.  Apparently having a break in both the first term and second term revitalizes them.  I don't really buy into this.  We have a short enough summer here before we spend most of the year in the cold.

Brooklyn is packed and ready to go in the morning, but my son is going to miss the first two days.  He was invited to try out for the Ontario 7's rugby team, they are holding a two day tryout/camp before school starts!!  LOL

All Supplies are from Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted:

Ink:  Winter Wisteria, Plum Pudding, True Black
