Colour Hues #118 - Smoky Blue & Sage Green

Today we start a new color duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge. Teammate extraordinaire Jules Peddicord chose the fun color scheme of Smokey Blue & Sage Green

I used PinkFresh Studio's Geo Tiles Stencil set which is actually new to me. It's been on my wish list for a long time.

I stencilled the background with Distress Oxide inks in Bundled Sage and a combination of Uncharted Mariner layered with Lost Shadow. I cut the stenciled panel down to 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" which is exactly the size of the stencilled piece. I added the panel to the card base with foam tape.

The sentiment is an older thanks die created by Cathy Zielske for Simon Says Stamp. This one is a classic die and I always know where it is. I cut the background from black cardstock and then cut the detailed word with white cardstock. I glued the sentiment together with liquid adhesive and then added it to the card with tiny foam dots making sure that none of the tape would show from the front.

I'm excited to see what you do with the colors for this challenge!
If you haven't been already please stop by the Color Hues blog to see what my talented teammates have made and see what inspires you to create.

Thanks so much for stopping in today!

Cool card and a fun direction for our colors, Tracey! I think the bold greeting worked out well, too. I think you work well under pressure.😆 I wish I did!

Awesome card Tracey!! I have that stencil and die and rarely use it and now looking at your card, I'm wondering why?!! It makes a perfect thank you card, but would also make a great masculine card...definitely need to pull that one out! (Thanks for reminding me!!) That is one of my favorite of the geometrics from PFS and it looks absolutely fabulous in these colors, Tracey! Last year I used this design and two of the others to create a bunch of masculine birthday cards but of course it is great for anyone. Love yours!

The thought of cutting and adhering foam stickies so small hurts my brain. You went above and beyond, for sure. This is so eye catching. Thanks for making my colors looks so fabulous!
