The Card Concept #5 - Colours

IMG_3984

Time for another challenge at The Card Concept.  This time we have colours for your inspiration.

You might think that you can't use spray ink on a clean and simple design. If you think about the basic components of CAS design.

 1.  One main image
2.  Lots of open space (uncluttered)
3.  Limited layers & embellishments
4.  Quick & easy to recreate

My card meets all those requirements. There is sometimes confusion with open/white space.  It doesn't always have to be white, just limit it to one colour.   In the case of my design I sprayed the ink on the white base, that now becomes the open/white space. Truth be told this actually started out as a one-layer design, but the ink warped the paper, so I cut the panel slightly smaller than the new card base.

I hope you play along with us again this challenge.
We had 172 participants with challenge #4, let's see if we can beat that this time.

Thanks for visiting.

Perfect CAS card! I haven't used spray inks, the idea of a mess frightens me from trying it :)

Wow...this is one amazing card! Your airbrushed background is so soft and subtle paired with the one branch, a beautiful way to say with sympathy.

I love the spray design Tracey...I have not been brave enough to try misting, but I need to! I think it created a very soft effect, perfect for the sympathy theme.

Beautiful card Tracey, love that soft spray. Did you use a mister bottle or an air brush system? I have not tried misting...yet. Getting up the courage to try soon I hope :)
