CCC #39 & Big Changes

Time for this week's CASology Cue Card.
This week our cue word is:

There are big changes happening in my life right now. We live in Toronto, Ontario.  On Thursday of this week my hubby is leaving to begin a new job which is in Edmonton, Alberta, 3 500 kilometers away or 2 100 miles.  We decided that the time is not right to move our family, one heading off to University and the other has two years of high school left and my hubby needs to be sure about the job before we make changes. So he is heading out west and the kids and I are staying put, he will not likely be home again until the end of May and only for a long weekend. So this card is for him and is already tucked into his suitcase.

Head on over to CASology today to learn what the 'cue card' means to you, how you can play along and see the all the cards created by the Design Team to inspire you.

Wow! That really is big news! I know another blogger who's got a similar arrangement - let me know if you want to start a support group - I'm sure it will be hard, but I'm equally sure that you're strong enough to make it work! This is fantastic card - I love the idea of you being his compass (so romantic!). And the 'air mail' washi is the perfect fun addition!

Oh my! Being apart is never easy, but I love that absence makes the heart grow fonder. :) Hugs to all of you as you begin this new journey and I wish you all the very best!
I just love the air mail colors with the kraft and that compass is just perfect for this occasion! Hugs!!!

What a challenge you face, my friend! You'll all be in my prayers. I hope the time passes quickly. What a sweet thought to tuck this card in your hubby's suitcase. I'm sure it will be a comfort to him.

what a wonderful card for your hubby, tracey! that is a big change in your life! my hubby's old job took him to Alaska for up to 2 months at a time, so I know a bit about what you are facing. my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family!

What an amazing wife you are, Tracey, and how greatly your lucky husband will feel that when he opens his suitcase and finds this stunning, loving card.

Thank you for sharing your update. I've been wondering for a very long time what was happening for him and a job. I know it won't be easy for either of you to be apart, or for the kids. The wonderful thing about life is that our decisions and our footsteps are not formed in concrete. They are fluid and they can be changed and keeping that thought can help during difficult times. I will keep your family in my prayers for strength and success as you start this new chapter in your lives.

WOW, this brought me to tears. I will be thinking of you as you begin this new journey. I'm sure it will be difficult for all of you, but it seems like you have a great foundation that will make the transition easier for you all.

This card is perfect for your husband. I'm sure he will appreciate it and hold it close to his heart!

Hugs

Oh Tracey....I don't know how you are going to make it except that you are one amazing woman and mom so you will, of course, do it! I wish I lived closer so I could help out! [Edmonton is sort of closer tho!] This is the perfect travel card for the perfect reason!

awww...that's so tough! my husband travels a lot for work and that is so hard, but you are making the best decision for your family right now. you'll be back together before you know it! such a sweet card for him. my husband and I also had a long distance relationship before we were married. we lived about 1500 miles apart for about 4 years!! 10 years later it's almost hard to remember!

Ooooh NO my sweet sweet friend, you will ALL be in my thoughts and prayers throughout this difficult time. You know I was facing this just a few months ago so my heart is MOST definitely with you. Love knows no boundaries and God WILL get you through. This card for your hubby is just precious (if a manly card can be precious!). I LOVE the sentiment and the airmail tape is divine. HUGS HUGS HUGS. I'm just an email away if you need to vent ;)

Hi Tracey! This card is really gorgeous, and perfect for the occasion. I love it, and I'm sure your hubs will love it too. Good luck to you and your family during your transition time. :-) Sending a smile and a hug to you.

Your card is wonderful, and I'm sure James will really appreciate it. Think of the good things that will come from being apart--like the opportunity to mail him cards, and not having to hide the packages that I send you.

Love this!!
It's perfect...
and that washi tape just makes it! :)
I feel for you...
I can't imagine Patrick not coming every night.
He had an opportunity after 9/11 for a job because of some unique training he has and the salary was fabulous but turned it down because he would never be home.
But I like Joyce's view on it...
he'll never know how many packages arrive for you...
there's a plus! :)
Hugs Sweet Friend!

Oh Tracey, so #1...I am obviously WAY behind in my google reader and #2 I had no idea you were going through this! If you ever want to chat to someone whose hubby has been traveling for 2 years, call me because I am happy to lend an ear. Last year he made 27 round trips to Seattle (cross country) and lots of weekends away. It's funny how you adapt... HUGS to you!!!
