Pattern Play Day #2

I am still a bit behind on my homework.  Isn't it always the week's that are not supposed to be very busy that we get the busiest?  Day 2 of Pattern Play and I am started to get a bit comfortable our of my comfort zone.  The instruction and videos are amazing and on Day 2 Jennifer McGuire was sharing tips for changing up Patterned Paper and stamping on patterned paper along with guest Laura Bassen.  For my first card I went with Jennifer's technique of stamping and clear embossing on patterned paper and then using Distress Inks to add some colour.

Cardstock:  White (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: Off to School (Fancy Pants) Bright Side (Lawn Fawn)
Stamps: Design Block Stencil (Hero Arts) Natural Beauties (Papertrey Ink)
Ink:   Shabby Shutters, Spun Sugar (Ranger Distress Ink) Versamark (Tsukineko) True Black (Papertrey Ink)
Dies: Sitched Mats (Lil' Inkers) Fillable Frames #10 (Papertrey Ink)
other: foam tape, clear embossing powder

Great take on the lesson. I really love your card. You did a great job of blending different distress colors to come up with something totally unique. And, very cute placement of your sentiment. I can see you are digging deep into your craft stash, and it's fun to see what you have.

I didn't spend much time trying this technique because, although her samples were lovely, they were a little busy for my style. But you have used it beautifully - not busy, just beautiful!

Very pretty card. Love the background with the white embossing. The sentiment panel compliments the background in a very nice way.
