The 12 Kits of Holidays - February

Welcome to the February Edition of The 12 Kits of Holidays, the group is shifting back to Christmas this month for our theme.  The hostess of our amazing kit this month was brought to us by Renee of It's a Patchwork Life.  Renee's took the theme one step further and introduced it as a Country Christmas.

There was so much yummy goodness in this kit with papers from Echo Park, stamps from Waltzingmouse, beautiful die cuts and ribbon and the list goes on.  Look at the Happy Mail we all received:

I made four cards this month and I have lots still left over for CASEing the other girls inspiration.  I learned my lesson last month with Joyce's kit when I got so into the amazing kit that I used a lot of it up and left myself short for CASEing.  I decided to add my supply list after each card to make it easier for you and me.  Here is what I came up with:

Can you see that gorgeous background stamped onto the brown cardstock it adds so much depth to the brown.  All of my elements are popped up.

Cardstock:  Dark Chocolate, Pure Poppy (Papertrey Ink) Gumdrop Green (My Favourite Things)
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Yonder Star, Yonder Star Background (Waltzingmouse)
Ink:  Chocolate Chip (Stampin' Up) Memento Bamboo Leaves (Tsukineko)
Dies: Stacking Stars (WPlus9), Yonder Star cut files (Waltzingmouse)
other: foam tape, brown twine (The Twinery)

My second card I had a lot of fun with.  I fell in love with the Deer Trio die from memory box and knew right way it needed to go with the wood plank paper.  The fun part was creating a cute little wall hanging with a jute hanger.

Cardstock:  Dark Chocolate, Rustic White  (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: This and That Christmas (Echo Park)
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Yonder Star (Waltzingmouse)
Ink:  Chocolate Chip (Stampin' Up)
Dies: Deer Trio (Memory Box)
other: jute, tiny brad

For my next card I used a red and green stamped die cut star and I cut the green smaller and popped it on the red then topped it with a gumdrop.  Also note that gorgeous red burlap ribbon.

Cardstock:  Pure Poppy, Rustic White (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: This and That Christmas (Echo Park)
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Yonder Star (Waltzingmouse)
Ink:  Real Red (Stampin' Up) Memento Bamboo Leaves (Tsukineko)
Dies: Framed Out #1 (Papertrey Ink), Yonder Star cut files (Waltzingmouse)
other: foam tape, gumdrop (Michael's)

Next I created a sweet little card with an adorable plaid mini bow.

Cardstock:  Rustic White (Papertrey Ink), Gumdrop Green (My Favourite Things)
Patterned Paper: This and That Christmas (Echo Park)
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Yonder Star (Waltzingmouse)
Ink:  Real Red (Stampin' Up)
Dies: Classic Rectangles Nestibilities (Spellbinders), mini bow (Lil' Inkers), Heart Borders (Papertrey Ink)

Please take the time to go have a look at what the rest of the group has to inspire you.
Have a great day and we will see you next month for the 12 Kits of Holidays when I be hopping in as your hostess!

What a great bunch of cards! So clever the way you cut and layered that star. My very fave is the card with the deer on the wood paneled paper. I'm wondering if I have enough of that paper left to case you. I did save that deer....

Great use of those stars and that star border but my favorite is your deer card, it looks just amazing with that wood background and how you hung up your pilgrim sign, fabulous! I love your last card too and that sweet scalloped edge with that plaid bow, so pretty!

Fantastic cards this month, Tracey! I love how the green and red pops against the chocolate background on the first. The wall "hanging" on the second card is brilliant! I'm definitely going to CASE the layered stars on your third card, and probably the last one as well! So glad I kept some goodies to play with. :)
