Ah Valentine's!

 Another Valentine's done and I have a couple more cards to share. 

I used a Simon Says Stamps stencil called Falling in Love. It was blended with Simon Says Stamp ink in Rhubarb and Cranberry. The triple stacked sentiment is Pretty Pink Posh Valentine's Greetings.

This one uses all Pretty Pink Posh. The Double Heart Shaker dies, The XOXO Pierced Plate die and Valentine's Greetings once again.

For this last card I used the Pretty Pink Posh Double Heart Shaker dies one more time, but using them to create a stencil from cardstock. I stenciled Spun Sugar, Kitch Flamingo and Ripe Raspberry Distress Oxide Inks to create my hearts. Dressed up with a few clear drops and the sentiment is another triple layer sentiment from Valentines' Greetings.

 Happy Weekend Friends!

Can you believe I'm posting this just because? I rarely do that anymore but here we are!

 I used old stamps and dies from MFT Stamps, gosh I miss them. I used the Heart Art stamps and the co-ordinating dies! I cut the heart trio in two rows from a white panel.

Then I attached the panel to a white card base. From die cuting into the panel, I ended up with six white hearts. The stamp set has six different sentiment hearts that I stamped onto the white hearts in different shades of pink and rec. Those heart were inlaid into the panel and the "Be My Valentine" heart was added with foam tape behind it for interest.

The sentiment is from Pretty Pink Posh Valentine Greetings! To me this is such a classic sentiment set and with the scripty writing and co-ordinating dies make it extra special. The 'xoxo' sentiment was embossed with WOW Gold Pearl embossing powder and was three layers thick.

One more card using the current colours at the Today we start a new colour duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge.

Fun Food Inspired Valentines

Hi there, I have a few more cards to share for Valentines. The Love You More dies from Concord & 9th and the matching stamp set make for some fun and cute Valentines. 

I wish that there was a set like this when my kids were young and needed Valentines for their friends. They never wanted mom to make cards because they wanted to buy the latest and greatest cheap cards from the store--Spongebob and Lizzie McGuire come to mind--lol! I was telling this story to my daughter last week and she told me that next year I could make cards for all the little's in her kindergarten class. I guess I have some work to do!

This year not too many cards's left the house but I have a good start for 2024!

A card for the current My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge.
I don't know how many sweethearts you have, but I always end up with way more than I need.
With hubby, kids, one request from my son for his girlfriend and my parents I will be making a few more. As soon as I saw the sketch I knew that I wanted to use the Love word die for the strip across the bottom of the card.  No stamping this time just paper and die cuts.

I cut the love word die out from the front of my white card panel and then lined the inside of the card with red cardstock. I die cut a small white Zig Zag STAX circle and adhered it with foam tape. The small heart was die cut from a scrap of patterned paper and adhered the the circle with adhesive. Super CAS.

The Paper Players CAS Valentine

Happy Friday!

Popping in today with a card for the Paper Players Clean and Simple Valentine challenge.
It was so fun to make a card just 'because'. You always expect to make resolutions when the new year begins and for me, in the past, those resolutions get broken pretty quickly. Instead of  resolutions this year I am following Ali Edward's lead and chose 'one little word'. In retrospect if I were to look back at 2015 and pick a word it would have been 'chaos', don't get me wrong it was a great year but so so many things were happening at one time. This year the word I chose is 'balance', I chose that word because I need to take a step back and keep things in balance. Reduce stress, don't take on more than I can handle, look after my health, get more rest and primarily enjoy life. Wish me luck with this one.

I started by sponging some Spun Sugar Distress ink onto a watercolour panel, then I flicked some water droplets onto it and left it to dry. I  had a sheet of watercolour paper on my desk that I had used to play with my Gansai watercolours. I die cut my hearts and sentiment from the panel for my card. That is the fun thing about playing with your inks and watercolours, you can always use whatever you have done for something else.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend and that you stay warm and safe from Jonas. My hubby is in North Carolina and they have declared a state of emergency. He is in Charlotte where it is expected to be hit with ice or snow or both. No worries, he grew up in Canada. ♥
