Top Dog Dies - Festive Foliage and MIM #184

IMG_6779

Happy Saturday!

I am popping in today with a card using two of the newly released exclusive Top Dog Dies...

Fall Foliage
Give Thanks

I made card by die cutting the leaves in white and using Distress Inks to shade. Then I used the Papertrey Ink Make It Monday #184: Dip Die Cuts technique taught by Danielle Flanders. I added gold dip to all my die cuts. Dimension was added with foam tape to the Maple leaf and the acorn. These were added to a white woodgrain embossed card base.

Happy Birthday Top Dog Dies

IMG_6551

Happy Friday
and
Happy 1st First Birthday to Top Dog Dies!

I am excited to share with you today a card made using two of the new exclusive Top Dog Dies now available for sale at Top Dog Dies! The Scalloped Square Frame A2 Mat and the Vintage Numbers. I created my card by die cutting the frame using some number paper from Doodlebug Design's Take Note and the numbers using some Bubblegum Pink. I adhered the frame directly to the white card base, the number in the lower right corner and stamped the Mama Elephant sentiment in the centre using VersaFine Onyx Black ink. Putting this aside for someone who is gaining on their 18th birthday a bit too quickly for me. ;)

Top Dog Dies | Pumpkin Gratitude Journal

Happy Monday! I hope you had a chance to get crafty this past weekend for World Card Making Day.  I used the opportunity to get going on some projects for the next couple of weeks. The Canadian Thanksgiving is on October 13th, next weekend. So I knew that the Top Dog Dies Pumpkin  Album Steel Rule die and the Pumpkin Finishers set was perfect to make a gratitude journal for the occasion. Next weekend the whole family gathers at the cottage to enjoy the beauty of the season and have our Thanksgiving dinner. I am happy to say that my husband and both kids will be there this year, for that I have a lot to be thankful for.

I created my book using cardstock for all the pages cut with the Pumpkin Steel Rule Die, and the Pumpkin Finishers for the leaves and the stem. I cut a Vintage A2 Mat in green for the centre of the cover and I dusted off my Zutter.  Lots of pages for everyone to write down what they are grateful for this year...

Top Dog Dies: Signature Emerson Die

IMG_6437

Time for another project for Top Dog Dies! There is a new release this week featuring 5 new Signature dies. Today I used the new Signature Emerson Die along with the previously released Halloween Trio dies to create a fun Halloween card. I used the sketch from retrosketches and modified the die cut slightly to work with the design.  I took about 1/4" inch on the top of the die cut and then the one of the ribs our of the die cut to form the space. That is the creative part of using a shape die, you can modify the shape to suit your needs after you have made your cut. The scary cat was die cut using some black glitter paper and once again I added green Stickles to the eyes.

Top Dog Dies Halloween Paper Bag Mini Album

I have a tutorial up today on the Top Dog Dies blog for this cute little Halloween paper bag mini album. When my kids were small they loved pulling out the Halloween decorations and finding remembrances of past costumes and photos of how the pumpkins were carved and the house was decorated.  You can make this album as many pages as you would like or make it whatever size you want using tiny, medium or lunch sized paper bags. It is all up to your individual taste and following my easy tutorial all you need are the bags, some patterned paper, some fun die cuts and some adhesive.

Top Dog Dies Weekly Post

It`s Thursday and that means another post for Top Dog Dies!

I created a card for Halloween using the newly released Halloween Trios Die Set.  I used a fun Halloween paper from Tim Coffey for my background which I matted on black cardstock. I die cut the black cat to walk to fence. I gave the cat green glowing eyes by applying green Stickles directly to the eyes on the die before removing it from the die. Just a fun accent which is much easier to do in the die for spacing, placement and because Stickles and I do not always get along well!

Top Dog Dies - Weekly Post

It's Thursday and that is the day I do my weekly Top Dog Dies post.
I have one last die to share with you from the August release--a dragon!

I used it to create a fun gift bag accessory/topper.

I embellished his eye with a blue jewel, attached him to a blue and white polka dot straw then added a sentiment on a hand cut banner.  How fun would it be to decorate loot bag's with this for a birthday party!

I am also submitting this to the Simon Says Anything Goes challenge.

Top Dog Dies - Weekly Post

IMG_6036

Definitely so behind this week, things are really busy around here with shopping, packing and then tomorrow moving my son to Sudbury. Today festivities include buying a freezer, blinds and all the 'oh I forgot to tell you items...'.

I have a card today using the new Top Dog Dies Modern Mosaic A2 Mat and the Top Dog Dies Banners #1.  I created a baby card that could be used for a boy, a girl or an unknown!

I die cut the mat from white cardstock and used it as a stencil along with translucent embossing paste.  I coloured the paste using Distress Ink that I smooshed onto my craft sheet. I find the translucent embossing paste not as creamy as regular paste , so it takes a bit more mixing to get the consistency right.  I used Post It tape to hold down my stencil over the card panel and then used my palette knives to add the paste to the stencil  in two shades. I removed the stencil and let both dry completely. It has a really nice shine to it.  The stencil is going to be used for a future project, stay tuned...
