Inspired by All the Little Things #11

IMG_0047

It's Saturday and time for this week's new inspiration over at Inspired by All the Little Things! Can you believe this is already challenge #11?  This week Karen Day is our hostess and look at the sweet inspiration photo she chose.

It just so happens that my new Hero Arts Paper Layering Pineapple came in the mail on Friday afternoon, so how could I not play with it Friday night.  It is a really unique die that cuts all the pop out elements into the card stock but does not cut out the shape.  I decided to replace the cupcake with my pineapple and use the colours from the photo.  I cut it with watercolour paper and then I watercoloured the pineapple shades of pink and silver using my Gansai Tambi watercolours. I used a small painter's palette to make my own shade of pink by mixing the bright pink with white for the overall wash and then a bolder shade of pink for the highlights.
