Seize The Birthday #261: Anything Goes

Hi there and thanks for stopping by today. Trying to use stamps that have purchased but have not seen ink just yet! I had a birthday card to make and I used products that fell into that category from Lawn Fawn. Really High Five stamps and dies and papers from the Hello Sunshine 6x6 paper pad were so much fun to use. Images were coloured with the following Copic markers:

BG13, BG32, BG11, RV10, RV13, RV21, Y13, Y15, Y17, E00, E21, E33

Submitting this to Seize the Birthday #261!

Color Hues #64

We have a new color duo over at the the Color Hues Color Challenge for Challenge #64!

To

The background is the Big Plans background stamp stamped with Catherine Pooler Black Jack ink which is the perfect dark grey ink colour. I used the Dad Squared stamps and the Dad Squared Dies for the focal sentiment stamped with

All of the products I used are listed below with clickable links for your convenience. The clear stamps and dies I used today just happen to be on CLEARANCE right now at the Greetery!

So grab yours before they are gone!

The overlay sentiment is such a fun addition. I bet it would look great gold heat embossed!

The two tiny sentiments are from the Sentiment Squared stamp set. I made my own matching cardstock using Catherine Pooler Orange Peel and Apricot ink pads direct to paper.

I'm submitting this to Happy Little Stampers Anything Goes with Dies!

Thanks so much for stopping by today and if you haven't been there already, please stop over to the Color Hues Color Challenge. My fabulous teammates have made some fabulous cards using this this modern farmhouse colour palette.

Color Hues #63

We have a new color duo over at the the Color Hues Color Challenge for Challenge #63!

My card was not planned, it just happened--lol!
I think all crafters know how that goes. It all started with foiling! I rarely throw away the  negative piece of foil after foiling. I recently bought the PinkFresh Solid rectangle foil die so that I could use up those pieces to create solid foiled backgrounds.

I had already foiled the Lawn Fawn Clouds foil plate with cyan foil, that card is at the end of this post. I chose to use the negative from the foiled paper as my first attempt with the PinkFresh Solid rectangle foil die. When I peeled the foil off of the background paper, what was left was magic...and that my friends was the start of my card for this week!

My piece of foil had been completely used, no waste! The panel was cut with the Lawn Fawn's Outside In Stitched dies and the rest of the die cuts are from Lawn Fawn's Fly High stamp set. Images were coloured with Copic Markers.

I added some prisma glitter to the hot air balloon and it's banner.

Trying to capture the shine from the foil and the glitter is tricky.

I have loved using new goodies from Lawn Fawn's spring release this year.

I used the original foiled piece to make a second card, this one is a shaker.

Being able to use every piece of foil completely makes this die one of my must haves. If you foil, I highly recommend it!

Thanks for stopping in today and I hope you head over to the Color Hues Color Challenge to see what the rest of the team has made, you will not be disappointed!

Color Hues #62

We have a new color duo over at the the Color Hues Color Challenge #62! Chosen by talented teammate Cindy I think your going to like this one!

For the tulips on the card I used the BotaniCuts Tulips dies and the Market Basket dies from The Greetery. These tulips make me smile every time I use them. I blended Shaded Lilac and Villainous Potion Distress Oxide inks for the flowers and Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness for all the greenery.

TIP: Placing your die cuts on a sticky mat for ink blending is very helpful when ink blending.

I cut the largest Market Basket with Mirror gold cardstock. I needed to trim the basket a wee bit to fit in with my overall design--so easy. You probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't pointed it out--lol!

I added a few detail strokes to the flowers with pencil crayons, if you are Canadian you likely know what I mean. In the U.S. I believe they are colored pencils. What do you say?

The label on the front of the basket uses a sentiment also from The Greetery called Market Basket Sentiments.

I made a last minute decision to leave the front of the card without a sentiment to describe the type of card it is. I like to always have cards like that on hand, you never know what you might need in a pinch.

Thanks so much for stopping in today and please head over to the Color Hues to see what the rest of the design team has made to inspire you!

Color Hues #61

We have a new color duo over at the the Color Hues Color Challenge for Challenge #61! Design team member Steph chose our new unique colour duo of Peach and Kraft! So pretty!

I completed the Concord & 9th Spring In The Classroom classes and using the stamp and dies that were a part of the class for my card. I used The Big & Bold stamps and dies as well as the Pretty Petals dies. The large die from The Big & Bold creates a debossed image onto a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" card front. The smaller dies from The Big & Bold can be added to the debossed image like a jigsaw puzzle--so much fun! I filled in my puzzle using peach and kraft cardstock. Then I added a few extra flower in black and filled in the centres using the stamp set with peach and kraft coloured inks. My large thank you was a die from the Pretty Petals set that I added to my card from using foam tape.

You can use any floral stamps and dies that you might have to get the same look.

Please head over to the Color Hues page to see what the rest of my fabulous teammates have created suing these colours!

Color Hues #60

Hi there friends, thanks so much for popping in. It has been a busy few weeks with too many days that I didn't even have time or energy to go into my craft room. I know crazy, right?

We have a new color duo over at the the Color Hues Color Challenge for Challenge #60! Design team member Marcia chose our new colours so let me introduce you to Blue and Turquoise!

One of my favourite co-ordinating sets of all time is PinkFresh Butterflies. I have the stamps, dies and stencils with the hot foil plate on my wishlist. I stamped and black heat embossed the butterflies, then I used Catherine Pooler inks in Dress Blues and Fiesta Blue along with the stencils for my card.

The sentiment is from a now retired set from MFT Stamps called Handwritten Happiness. Any type of sentiment from your favourites could be used with a butterfly.

The heat embossing makes the stenciling so much easier.

The areas where the blue meets the turquoise makes the loveliest hue of the two colours combined.

I added foam tape behind the panel and behind the butterfly for a bit of dimension.

I have a bit of both here, a beautiful blue butterfly and a sure sign of spring.

Please pop over to the Color Hues Color Challenge to see what the rest of the team has made, you will not be disappointed! Happy hopping!
