Heffy Doodle and Studio Katia Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to the Heffy Doodle and Studio Katia Collaboration Blog Hop! Our design teams have come together to share some amazing inspiration featuring Heffy Doodle and Studio Katia products, and there is a prize up for grabs, too!

You should have arrived from Ali Farmer's once you get to the end of my post I will let you know where the next stop on the hop is!

I used the adorable Quack Me Up stamp set for my card today.

I started off by using the Heffy Doodle Circle Maskarade stencil to create a meadow to put my pond in to. I used Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Tumbled Glass and Broken China Distress Oxide inks. Next I layered the Rain on My Parade stencil on the top and stenciled the raindrops over my meadow. I stamped the pond, dancing duck, baby duck, umbrella and two sizes of clouds from the Quack Me Up stamp set. The images were coloured with Copic Makers and then I die cut them all with the coordinating Quack Me Up dies. I adhered the images over and extending the circle frame ink blended on the front of the card.

The sentiment from the same stamp set was stamped in black under the frame.

I embellished the card with Studio Katia Prismatic Sky and Lemon Burst Pearls.

Once you get all the way to the end of my post I will let you know where the next stop on the hop is, so lets get on with the show.

We are so excited to introduce our new super trendy Slimline dies! My first card uses the new Dotted Slimline Set 1 dies and Dotted Slimline Set 2 dies. For this card I started by blending a panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock using the Studio Katia Blending Brushes and the Ink Splash Stencil with Distress Oxide Inks. I cut the blended panel with the large slimline oval from the Dotted Slimline Set 1. Then I die cut the wonky rectangle from Dotted Slimline Set 2 from black cardstock. A slimline card is usually 8 1/2" x 3 1/2". I cut my card base from white cardstock. I cut a piece 8 1/2" x 7" and scored it on the short side at 3 1/2" and folded to create my card base. The black rectangle leaves just a tiny border around it when you adhere it to the card base.

I stamped the new Craftastic stamp set images and die cut them with the co-ordinating Craftastic die set. I coloured the images with Copic markers, they are so cute!! I created a sentiment uses words from the Craftastic stamp set and stamped it on the oval with black ink. Next I adhered the ink blended slimline oval to the card base on top of the black panel with Studio Katia foam tape. The die, cuts a tiny border around the oval that I adhered directly to the panel around the oval. It creates an interesting effect.

For my second card I used the Dotted Slimline Set 1 dies and Dotted Slimline Set 2 dies once again, just in a different combination. These dies can be mixed and matched, you won't want to miss out on them, definitely a staple in your craft supplies.

This time I used the large stitched rectangle as my background and the pretty scalloped die for the inside die. For this card I started by blending a panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock using the Party Balloons Duo stencil to randomly add balloons to the upper two thirds of the card.

I stamped the new Mini Birthday Cake stamp and cut it out with the Mini Birthday Cake die. I coloured the image with Copic markers and added it to the panel. The sentiment is from the new Happy Celebrations stamp set.

Over the Rainbow

Happy Friday!

I wonder if it's just me but I still see Friday as the beginning of the weekend? I have a feeling many of you will say the same. Many of us are still at home but the weekend still feels like the weekend and seem to be busier than the rest of the week. We are creatures of habit and if the fact that Fridays are still a happy day then that is worth feeling good about.

We have had the most amazing week of weather. Sunny every single day, temperature sitting between 25C and 30 C (80 - 86 American), no humidity and no bugs! Unheard of this time of the year. I am feeling so thankful!

Today I`m sharing a card I made with the Taylored Expressions Over the Rainbow kit.  I used the masking rainbow stencil and it was so fun to use. I am hoping to make a bunch of rainbow cards in lots of different colours.

Wishing you a fabulous weekend and hope you are having the same amazing weather that we are having here.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #493

A last minute entry for this week's My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch Challenge #493!
I am really trying to get going on my Christmas cards this year so that I don't get caught without enough when the busiest time of the year comes.

I purchased the the Merry Moments stamp set last Christmas and I didn't have a chance to ink it up, so it was kind of fun to pull it out for the sketch. I ended up making two cards because I got lost in the process and where I had set out to use this month's colours along with the sketch...then well you know how it goes! The snow was made with the Snow Drifts Cover die which I think is retired now. The sky on both cards was made with Distress Oxide Inks and splattered with watered down Perfect Pearls and white acrylic paint to mimic a snowy sky!

This first card uses both the sketch and the colors! The sky reminds my of the Northern Lights and the polar and santa are enjoying the view!

This card is the same, just a different sky and just based on the sketch.

Christmas Kickstart #32

I am so excited today to be Guest Designing for the Christmas Kickstart Challenge #32!
The challenge is Care to Tag Along? Could it be any more fitting for my guest design?

I started off by ink blending a panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock with Tumbled Glass and Chipped Sapphire. I flicked some water over the panel and picked up some of the colour with paper towel then I splattered the panel with white acrylic paint to create a snowy background. Once dry the panel was die cut with Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangle.

A sentiment from Pretty Pink Posh Christmas Friends Stamps was white embossed at the top. I stamped the snowman from Pretty Pink Posh Holiday Signs Stamps and coloured him with Copic markers, an easy colouring job. Then I cut him out with the co-ordinating Holidays Signs Dies. I put him onto a red tag cut from the Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Tag Dies with foam tape. I topped off the tag using my signature finish by tying gold cord with gold jingle bells.
