No Card today

No card today just an update of the last few days.

Brooklyn had a fantastic time at One Direction but she was not able to capture Niall's heart, this year. We headed up to the cottage on Sunday morning just in time for a bridal shower for my niece--just family and it was so much fun. Do you love her purple hair? That is Ashley (fun wedding invite HERE), she is so beautiful inside and out.  Honestly she is the only person I know that can pull it off and I wouldn't be one bit surprised to see her purple hair and elegant white wedding dress walk down the isle in September!

Monday before heading home we were waiting for my niece and her family to arrive for their vacation before going home.

They were coming in two cars--her husband, Jim, in the truck towing his brand new fishing boat and her and the kids in the van. We got a call around 2:00 that there had been in an accident and Jim was being taken to a hospital close to the cottage. We headed to the hospital to meet them.

Apparently the truck being driven by some younger boys in front of them had missed their turn and did a U turn which they overshot and plowed into the side of Jim's truck! Truck went one way, the boat another and the trailer another. If she had been following any closer she would have been hit too! He is going to be okay, he has a bad concussion.  They transferred him Monday night to a trauma unit in Kingston for a CT scan. They released him at 3 in the morning. My niece Danielle, is a RN so he is in good hands and they are all at the cottage now.

Fast forward to Tuesday back at home, I bet you never knew that making a salad for dinner is very dangerous stuff. After an unfortunate incident with cutting the lettuce up my darling daughter took charge and drove her mom to emerg where we spent 4 hours waiting to find out how many stitches I was going to need! A deep cut and that's why it wouldn't stop bleeding. Apparently it's all about the angle, so no stitches but I get to wear a big band aid for the next few days. Really hoping the rest of the week get's back on track.

So glad the injuries were not any worse!! Yikes! Wishes for a quick recovery. I have donned one of those wonderful finger ornaments myself - almost cut the tip of my finger off when cutting up a Kolrabi (sp?). It will heal amazingly fast - I was surprised about mine! Hugs to you!!

Oh my goodness! What an eventful time you've had. I'm glad to hear that your niece's husband was not badly hurt, but sorry that your finger was a salad casualty. At least be glad that you didn't need stitches! Maybe since you're injured you can turn over dinner making duties to someone else and have a mini break!

Your poor thing! I'm so glad you had happy moments this weekend because you've had some rough days following. I'm so grateful the accident wasn't worse, but how scary! And I'm hoping your hand heals quickly. You'll be in my prayers. (PS Your niece does look darling with her purple hair...and I don't think I've ever thought that about anyone with such colorful hair.)

What a weekend fun of unexpected events. Your family are still in my prayers and praying for speedy recovery and same for you too and your finger. I love Ashley's hair and can just imagine it with a beautiful white wedding gown too. So sorry that Brooklyn will have to make another attempt to win Niall's heart but with her gorgeous looks and ever sweeter personality I am sure it will not take too much.

So sorry about the accident, and about your finger! It's certainly a great way to get out of cooking, but what about crafting? Please tell me you're right handed :-)

I'm so glad everyone is going to be ok...take care of yourself, please!

Yikes! You've had plenty of excitement this week I'd say!!! So glad your niece's hubby is okay! What a way to start their vacation!
Your incident in the kitchen reminds me so much of my own mother! She is always cutting her fingers when prepping food and it's a family joke now! Luckily, so far she hasn't needed to go to the ER!!!
Here's hoping you heal quickly! :)
