Happy Tuesday!
It is the first day of school today for my daughter!
It is also time for this week's CASology Cue Card. The cue word this week is:
What colour are mailboxes where you are?
In Canada our mailboxes are red, so for the mailbox on the front of my card I stamped it on to some red patterned paper and fussy cut the image. My envelope was stamped and fussy cut and then inserted partially into my mailbox. I created a little slit where the mail slot is using an exacto knife and slipped it in. A great little detail without bulk.
ETA: We have community mailboxes in our subdivision, the big red boxes are in front of the drug store, but we can drop mail into the community boxes too.
Head on over to CASology today to learn what the 'cue card' means to you, how you can play along and see the all the cards created by the Design Team to inspire you.
Sweet image and great card! Happy last-first day of school, Brooklyn!
ReplyDeleteWell this is just too cute Tracey and the perfect image for today's cue word!! Brooklyn looks adorable...a senior...where DOES the time go! Hope she has a wonderful first day and a TERRIFIC year!!!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is beautiful. And your card is super cute.
ReplyDeleteWe have a community mailbox that is for about 25 people in our neighborhood. Not very fun but I suppose it is more efficient for the postal system.
Oh Tracey - darling daughter, darling card - it defines CAS perfectly!
ReplyDeleteThe wheels are turning already!!

They grow up waaay too quickly, don't they! My daughter is just a year behind yours. Darling card :)
ReplyDeleteOh love Brooklyn's first day of school photo. She looks so happy :) Hard to believe she is a senior. Keep me posted on where she thinks she'll go to school. We have a community mailbox in our neighborhood....it's like we like in an apartment building. Strange!
ReplyDeletewhat a sweet photo.. your daughter is adorable..
ReplyDeletelove this card..
I'll be this mom next year...
ReplyDeleteHaley's a junior...
YIKES!
It goes SO quick! :(
Adorable card!
I wish our mailboxes were red.
our PO ones are blue...
and I just think red would liven them up a bit! :)
Your daughter is so pretty Tracey! I can definitely see the resemblance :) Love your adorable mailbox card! Our mailboxes are blue... I think??
ReplyDeleteWho can resist a red mailbox?! So cute Tracey.
ReplyDeleteA perfect CAS card. In Sweden our mailboxes are yellow.
ReplyDeleteI just love your CAS style, Tracey, and this card is no exception (love it's Canuck twist too). You make it look EASY (and I can vouch for the fact that for me, it ISN'T!! LOL). Exciting time of year for the kids, and parents ... best wishes to all.
ReplyDeleteThat's a darling little mailbox, Tracey. Good luck to Brooklyn in her senior year.
ReplyDeleteawwwww...she's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove that our kids are the same ages/grades!
awesome card Tracey!
Your daughter is beautiful, Tracey! Love your adorable maibox card! Our mailboxes are blue. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat card. I wondered where you got the stamp and then I saw it was Lawn Fawn. Your daughter starts her senior year and my youngest grandson starts kindergarten.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet card! Our community mail boxes -- like the ones in front of the Post Office -- are blue. Suburbs here have large PO Box-style boxes in their neighborhoods, and those of us who live in the city (that's me) have mailboxes on or in front of our houses.
ReplyDeleteBest of luck to Brooklyn--love her first day of senior year photo! Your card is wonderful and the mailbox is adorable! Wish ours were a happy red too!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet! Lovin' the red mailbox!
ReplyDeleteMailboxes are blue where I live and I suspect your pretty card would look fantastic in that shade too! Congratulations to Brooklyn as she heads off to senior year. Fun times ahead!
ReplyDeleteLove that sweet mailbox!!!
ReplyDeleteYour card as always has nailed the cue card :) and u daughter looks stunning, wishing her a wonderful year ahead !
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic first day of school picture. Your Brooklyn is cute as can be. I'll bet you looked just like her when you were in high school. Fabulous card, too. I love your little happy mail, and the tip about cutting a slit for the letter is a great one.
ReplyDeleteLove your CAS design for this card, Tracey! Your mailbox really pops with the cute little envie...so perfect for this week's Cue Card!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure it was a bittersweet moment for you, but your daughter looks beautiful heading off for her first day of school! Best of luck to her in her Senior year!!!
Wow, her last year of high school! (My two oldest will be starting their first year of high school next week...I'm sure the time flies!) I did not know that mailboxes in Canada are red...they are blue here in the US! Love this CAS card...quite adorable!
ReplyDeleteCute card with mailbox! Great photo of your daughter! Hope she has a wonderful senior year!
ReplyDeleteWonderful photo of Brooklyn, Tracey, she's lovely! Fabulous sweet card too ... so cute! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is beautiful; quite the resemblance to her equally as beautiful mom! Wishing her a most successful school year, filled with positive experiences, memorable moments and immense joy! Your mailbox card...beyond adorable! LOVE it!! I do hope Canada Post will a few mailboxes about as they go through their 'reconstruction'. They make me happy, as does your charming card!

I love this set! I almost used it myself for this challenge - it is perfect for it! Your red mailbox is adorable, but not quite as much as your daughter! Good luck to her in her last year of high school.
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific card and so vibrant and radiating with love!! Love that mailbox stamp - definitely want to get my hands on that one!! Thank you for sharing and your daughter looks dressed and ready for high school success!!!
ReplyDeleteAdorable card and I love your sweet photo of Brooklyn, just beautiful. I always took photos of Ashleigh on the first day of school and tried to sneak one in on her first day of college and she had not part of it. Good luck to Brooklyn in her senior year in high school!
