Happy Monday and I hope that you had a wonderful weekend! I think this is the longest I have gone without a post in a long time and I don't even have a card to share with you. I haven't been around blogland much in the past couple of weeks, in fact I haven't even been in my craft room either. I do apologize for not getting around the comment on all your posts and I do appreciate all of the kind comments that have been left for me. Finally after what has been the busiest summer I can remember in a long time. I think that everything is in order now.
Last week was a flurry of shopping for things Ben needed for his new house he is renting. A trip to IKEA ended up with a desk for Brooklyn as well, which the kids built together. Ben was more than happy to teach his sister how to assemble her desk and drawers.
of course Sam had to be there with them...
Desk built and clean up done.
This past weekend we moved Ben to his 2nd year house at University in Sudbury. I thought I was going to be so sad to see him take his furniture out of his room and go, but actually I was never more proud of him. When I saw first hand how much he has matured in a year and knowing that he is really going to be okay I just felt so happy for him and how excited he is for the future. Toronto is a big city and Sudbury is 390 km (150 miles) north of the city. When you drive up, there is 100 miles between the last big city and Sudbury. The drive is highway and flat land, but when you get to Sudbury it is all rolling hills and rock faces as you head down into the city. The city is a basin formed when a meteor hit the earth millions of years ago. So there is a lot of rock. I won't bore you anymore with a history lesson. ;)
Not the nicest day for a drive but at least the rain held off until we got there, then it rained while the uhaul was unloaded. LOL

The weekend finished off with my husband taking Brooklyn and I out for dinner and we got a rare photo of the two of us together. Funny how that happens.
Back in my craft room today I hope!
Have a wonderful week!

ReplyDeleteWhat a BEAUTIFUL family you have, Tracey! And, I don't just mean that in "looks"! It really warmed my heart to see Ben and Brooklyn assembling her desk...It took me back, as I always enjoyed watching my kids work on something together! I know you must be so happy for Ben, too...he seems like such a wonderful young man, and I know his future will be bright! And, I'm certain that Brooklyn (love her name, by the way) is right behind him! May God bless them both and keep them safe and happy for years to come!

Love the update and all the photos. Of course, you've been missed in Blog land, and you will be missed again here at my house on Wednesday. I love the picture of you and James. It made me realize that I don't think I have ever seen a picture of him. Now, I can have something in my mind when we talk about hiding packages from James (which I know you would NEVER do--(just in case he is reading this))

ReplyDeleteI'm running behind in comments, but taking time this leisurely Saturday morning to spend some time with you. What a wonderful gallery of photos you've shared of your beautiful and handsome family! Seeing Ben and Brooklyn co-assemble was so heart-warming; moments like these show their love for one another, as well as strengthen the bond they have. They'll miss one another, but at least your son isn't 'too' far away. The Sudbury scenery...gorgeous (well, minus those ominous rain clouds). Your and husband...awesome photo! This entire post is infused with love! Two wonderful parents; two wonderful children. Such joy...
ReplyDeleteHugs~c
