Happy {Melanchony} Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

Why melancholy?

Last night after carving the pumpkins, my daughter said she felt really sad because she is not going out 'trick or treating' this year and that she never would again.  Yes she is growing up, she forgets that as a child she did half the street, had enough and came home and didn't eat most of her candy, that last year she went out with a few girlfriends and couldn't wait to get home to hand candy out to the little ones, that now she is able to drive a car, that tomorrow night she is going to watch her boyfriends hockey game.  She will 'trick or treat' one day again with her own little ones--but not for a very very long time!  Maybe then I will be a bit melancholy.

So I made up a treat bag for her using a paper bag and fun stamps from Reverse Confetti.

Cardstock:  White, Orange Zest (Papertrey Ink)
Stamps:  Spooky Cuties, Spooky Sentiments, Forever Fall (Reverse Confetti)
Ink: True Black, Orange Zest (Papertrey Ink)
dies: Stitched Mats (Lil' Inkers)
other: paper bag, orange/black twine (Timeless Twine)

What a thoughtful gift to make for your daughter! I think she's going to love it, and she'll probably have a better time at her boyfriend's game anyway ;-)

What a fabulous treat bag. I know my daughters would love one, if I had thought to make it! Such a tricky time, when they are in between being a kid and being a grown up.
