Joyce isn't the only one with friends in high places. Design Team member Cathy Webber was sweet enough to send me some images so that I could play along with the second Challenge at the Serendipity Stamps Challenge Blog. The theme of this challenge is Winter Birthdays. Through blogging I share both the good and the not so good, this image is so pretty and it reminds me of a cozy cabin in the woods. At first I wasn't going to colour it, but I did, I think it took something from the image. I do have a few birthdays this month that this card would be perfect for.

Since you have a few birthdays this month, it would be fun if you did another card with the same image and didn't color it so we can seen it that way, too. It sure is a delightful, cozy cabin the way you've done it.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you posted this card. It is such a great winter scene, and it looks really nice colored. You can see that I was too darn lazy to color my image! But, now I am seeing what a difference coloring makes. I love how you did the sentiment, too.

ReplyDeleteI think my first post got lost, so if I am repeated...well, you just have to hear how much I loved your card twice! I am so glad you colored this image. The coloring of the house honestly improves the 3-D effect of the corner of the house. It really feels like I am looking at two sides of a house with those shovels (love the little red handles) propped up just waiting to be used! I love the little scallop trim and I always love looking at your cards...our styles are so similar that I ALWAYS get a lot of inspiration from you. Great job!

ReplyDeleteTracey I love your card! Love the way you cut the image with the die cut and then colored it! The red shovels add a touch of color and I love the glow of light coming from the window! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about coloring these images though...I do like using them as is without coloring sometimes too. I do this a lot at Christmas with many of their detailed Holiday images. I stamp them onto red diecut cardstock and add a sentiment for Christmas tags. It is a busy time of year and this allows me to make beautiful tags for my packages fairly quickly. The detail on Serendipity stamps is truly amazing and stands alone perfectly.
