colourQ challenge #133

This weeks colourQ palette I am saving for future reference.  I can see myself using these colours in the fall, Thanksgiving and Halloween.  For this week though I chose to make a masculine birthday card for my hubby who is having a birthday in May.  I selected True Black, Smokey Shadow, Canyon Clay and Summer Sunrise from Papertrey for my card.

I used my Rosie Posie stamps to create the honeycomb pattern on white using black, Canyon Clay and Summer Sunrise ink.  The sentiment was stamped with Smoky Shadow ink.  It was challenging, trying to line up each layer of the honeycomb.  I think next time I use these stamps I will take a leap of faith and cut them!  I adhered a piece of Summer Sunrise cardstock to the right side that was left from a previously die cut rickrack shape.  It was easier than trying to attach the actual rickrack piece because you had more cardstock to apply the adhesive.  The whole panel was attached with foam squares.

All Supplies are from Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted:

Cardstock: White, True Black, Canyon Clay, Summer Sunrise
Stamps: Rosie Posie, Birthday Basics
Ink:  Smokey Shadow, Canyon Clay, Summer Sunrise , Tuxedo Black Memento (Tsukineko)
other: foam squares

Very, very nice Tracey! A masculine card is the perfect choice for these colors (I've been struggling with them myself) and the hexagon design is an excellent graphic touch! Happy (early) Birthday to your DH!
