Clean & Simple Days 5 & 6

I had this one ready to post last week, so here it is today.

Day 5 was hosted by the wonderful Jennifer McGuire who showed us how easy it is to do colour blocking with Tim Holtz Distress Inks on watercolour paper.  Now I didn't have watercolour paper so I tried my hand at it using cardstock--I would not recommend using cardstock!  Sometimes we need to share the good and the not so good.  Day 5 was not so good for me.  :(  I ended up cutting the blocks out from the cardstock and mounting them on to another card base.  Overall wasn't happening but if you don't try you will never know.  So I will share a tiny picture.  LOL

Day 6, hosted by Kristina Werner, was about creating simple embellishments for your CAS cards.  I  have had this Heart Winged Butterfly from hero Arts for a few years and thought it was the perfect time to dust it off and create a black embossed butterfly.  There are so many ways to create your own simple embellishments.

Cardstock: White, Summer Sunrise (PRI)
Stamps:  Heart Messages, Heart Winged Butterfly (Hero Arts), Think Big Favorites #2 (PTI)
Ink:  Canyon Clay (PTI), VersaMark (Tsukineko), Fired Brick, Spun Sugar (Ranger)
Dies:  Mat Stack 1 (PTI)
other:  orange pearls (Prima), black embossing powder

  3. Ok, I love the colors in the first card, and think it turned out just fine, I had to laugh that you used such a small picture. Something I would do. Might not be as grand as your other cards but still very pretty. :) Love the simplicity of the second card and the butterfly . Also love the large sentiment , I'm going to buy more of those.

  4. I am so glad to see you plugging away at this class. I finally finished my card sets for I don't remember what day, and just have to post them. Still have a couple more videos to watch. Anyway, I really like both of your cards. I think cutting those water color images worked great. And that butterfly window--gorgeous.

  9. LOL about the tiny photo. ;-) That sounds like something I would do!! Way to brave and try the watercolor blocking - I didn't even bother (sigh).
