PTI Boutique Accessory Challenge

Today's Challenge at Papertrey's Anniversary Festivities was to create a handmade accessory.  I decided to make a hairpin, I thought my daughter was a bit old for barrettes but when I showed her my pin the first thing she said is can I have it?   Sold.

I die cut three different sizes of Beautiful Blooms II in Raspberry Fizz and Hibiscus Burst felt, used Zip Dry to attach the layers and to attach the pin to the hairpin.  I topped it with a Raspberry Fizz button and then pulled out Button Boutique for my base.  I used an Xacto knife to cut two slits on the card that the pin could slide into.

Valentines Treats

Happy Valentines Day!

I kind of miss the days when I would make Valentine cards for my kids to take to school for their classmates along with a tray of cupcakes or cookies.  I wish there were all the fabulous stamping products available then that there are now.  Even though they are teenagers now they still look forward to a treat on Valentines from their Number One Valentine--Mom!

I also have a couple of pillow boxes for then, the one with ribbon is Brooklyn's with nail polish inside and Ben's has the 'manly' twine with a gift card for the bulk store to buy study food.

PTI Watercolour Challenge

I have never really been fond of watercolouring, but I decided to give it a shot tonight for today's challenge.  OK well it was actually kind of fun and easy.  I stamped my images using Memento Tuxedo black Ink first.  Then I patted a few ink pads onto my craft sheet and added a bit of water for my paint and then coloured the flowers in.  I used palette No. 3 from yesterday's challenge for my card.

colourQ #176

Happy Tuesday and time for this week's colourQ!

Arielle put together another amazing palette of colours and isn't that sleeping bag adorable?

We have all had an occasion where we have overcooked a card when embossing.  I actually did  on the second embossing of my card but instead of starting over I was actually happy with the way it looked.  The centre of the flower looks kind of fluffy now.  What do you think?  If you want to learn how I did my double embossing here is a link to a video posted recently at Papertrey Ink.
