Today we start a new color duo at the Color Hues Color Challenge. My friend and teammate Marcia Hill chose fall colours Rust & Yellow! I haven't made any fall cards yet this year, I think I'm still in summer mode. Although you wouldn't know it if you saw the colour of all my trees right now! It's definitely fall in the north!
For my card I started out with Lawn Fawn's Stitched Leaves. I have had this set forever, but they are the sweetest leaves! I ink blended the leaves using Mustard Seed, Fossilized Amber and Rusty Hinge Distress Oxide Inks and set them aside.
I used the yellow grid paper from Lawn Fawn's Falling Leaves petite paper pack and cut in down to a 5" x 4 3.4" panel and adhered it directly to the card base.
The arch is from the Spellbinder's Essentials Arches die collection which was cut with white. I added sentiment "let's go jump in the leaves" from Catherine Pooler's Fall Finds stamp set to the bottom of the arch. It was then attached to the card base with foam tape.
The leaves were added with a combination of liquid adhesive and foam dots!
I added a few Studio Katia clear drops to add a dewy look to the leaves.

Now that's a sentiment I can get behind! Cute fall card, Tracey! I'll bet you have a lot pf pretty color happening in your neck of the woods!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to come north to jump in your leaves, Tracey! Think James would rake them up in a big pile for us? lol
ReplyDeleteA beautiful card with some of my favorite leaves and colors in Fall!

When I saw your sentiment I immediately thought of Jax. I bet that is something he would do. A very pretty Fall card, and your ink blending really makes your leaves realistic. Nice job, Tracey!
ReplyDeleteOoh, this makes me think of butterscotch candy and caramel apples, Tracey! Two autumn favorites of mine! Love this!
ReplyDeleteLove how the DP colour is picked up with the inking on your leaves, a lovely harmonious feel. :)
ReplyDeleteSweet, sweet card Tracey!! I absolutely LOVE your ink blended leaves...they're gorgeous and totally make my color pairing SHINE! The arch and dsp make everything stand out so perfectly, and I just love how you've finished off this delightful card with the dew drops and sentiment (totally reminds me of jumping in the leaf piles that my dad used to rake up every Fall!). Sweet, sweet card my friend!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteThat is my favorite leaf set, Tracey, and their colors go beautifully with the grid background. Love the sentiment too.
ReplyDeleteYou've captured the images and colours of fall beautifully on your card, Tracey. So pretty! I'm sure Jax is enjoying running through the leaves, as is Lily. Hope you're doing well, enjoying the delights that come with the season.

I always love a CAS card, and your leaves are lovely! The sentiment is a great one, too.
ReplyDeleteThat is the BEST fall sentiment ever! And brings back memories of many happy falls when we just had to jump in them and didn't have to rake them!! Pretty plaid background for your fall leaves!
ReplyDeleteWell I need to come and visit you then! I just got back from Illinois and things are on a delay there. This is very pretty and perfect with your plaid background.
ReplyDeleteTracey, I love the beautiful leaves you ink blended and the great background paper, but it's the sentiment that really tickled me! Fantastic, fun card to send to a friend. Love this to pieces!
ReplyDeleteSimply stunning and your leaves look just as beautiful on your post as they do in person! So fun to watch you create in person.
