Color Hues #71

Hi there friends! I can't believe it's September 1st! The weather this summer has been anything but normal. We had a few heat waves but it was one of those summers where a sweater was never too far away. Fall is almost here and it's my favourite season of the year, anyone else?

Today I'm introducing the colours for the  Color Hues Color Challenge #71. I had the honor of choosing the challenge colours this time. I chose Tangerine and Violet as the new color duo. Besides being an excellent bold colour duo, these colours would work well for fall theme cards! In Canada Thanksgiving is always the second Monday of October. So we are literally ending summer, celebrating the harvest and then into Halloween over a few short weeks.

I used a new to me stamp set from Catherine Pooler called Fall Finds. Working with two colours of leaves was a bit challenging but I'm so happy with the results. I can see this set becoming a fall staple.

So many unique leaf shapes , excellent for solid stamping!

The little extra dots and wind sweeps for filling in the spaces if you wish.

I hope you head over to the Colour Hues Challenge blog to see what my amazing and talented teammates have created with this colour pallete!

I can't wait to see what you make with these unique colours!
Thanks so much for stopping in and have a great day!

  3. I love your leaves and especially the sentiment Tracey...reminds me of where I grew up with lots and lots of oak trees that my dad would rake into huge piles and my brothers and I would have a riot jumping into the piles!! FUN memories and a delightful card and color combination to play with! Hugs. :0)

  7. Great color choice, Tracey! They look beautiful as fall leaves on your fabulous card! Your bold crisp images and pretty falling pattern make this extra special! The fact that you used only two shades makes the leaves really stand out.
PS. I ALWAYS have trouble using only two colors, lol!

  12. The purple and orange goes very well together. Not sure if we would have used those colors together when I was growing up. I agree with Nancy. Your leaves look like they are floating. Such a pretty card. BTW, I have a Triplet update on my blog if you get a chance to stop by.
